Drayton Valley’s own Herbert C. is $250,000 richer after winning on a $10 Crossword Deluxe Scratch and Win ticket.
The retiree said his heart skipped a beat when he scratched the ticket and saw the win, and even had his daughter confirm it at 3 a.m.
Now that the two of them have caught up on sleep, he’s started thinking about what to spend the money on.
“I am going to share with my kids,” he said. “I don’t know what else yet.” He added, “We’re just happy to have a nest egg for when we need it!”
He purchased his ticket from the Poplar Ridge Grocery Store (6402 50 Avenue) in Drayton Valley.
