A huge high school reunion is happening in Drayton Valley this month.
On Sept. 27, anyone who has graduated from Frank Maddock High School, or currently attends, is invited to revisit their glory days at a high school reunion.
Marilyn Rose, event organizer, says she came up with the idea when she was planning her 50-year reunion and found the group was going to be very small. Instead, she’s opened it up to anyone who’s gone to the school for a bigger crowd.
There’s room for just over 200 guests and about 100 tickets are left.
The evening will begin with cocktails at 5 p.m., followed by supper catered by Mitch’s Restaurant and Bar at 6 p.m. DJ Lonnie Ross, a former Frank Maddock graduate himself, and local band River’s Edge will cover entertainment and host a dance until 11 p.m. Rose said one member of the band is also an alum.
Tickets are $65 and can be paid via e-transfer, cash or cheque. You can email fmhs50reunion@gmail.com for more information. The deadline to purchase is Monday morning, Sept. 22.
If tickets are out of your price range or the event sells out, former grads are also invited to connect at Nodding Donkey Brewing on Sept. 26 instead. From 4-10 p.m., feel free to drop in anytime to reminisce and reconnect.
