September 4
12:13 p.m. – Brazeau County – Two complainants who are colleagues reported a customer made threats related to a dispute over some work completed for the suspect. File for information only, both suspected the male was drunk at the time the threats were made.
12:25 p.m. – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported finding a burned-out car on a lease site. Member attended and had the car towed. It was later determined the car was stolen in Rocky Mountain House RCMP’s area on September 2.
3:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported witnessing a male kick a female in an alley and heard the suspect utter threats. Members attended and found that the female had attended the suspects residence where she is not a welcome guest and was removed by the tenant. The potential victim is known to police, had left, and did not make any report of being assaulted. Members spoke to the complainant who was not sure if the threats heard were directed at him when he approached the suspect, or at the female. No charges were laid.
6:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported continuing harassing behaviour from a neighbour in her apartment building. Members located and arrested the male suspect who was released on conditions of no-contact and a court date.
September 5
6:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members responded to an alarm at a liquor store and found the front door smashed. Business cleared, suspect(s) had already left the area. Under investigation,
11:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant attended the detachment with a stack of business cheques he found on the ground. Member contacted the business owner who picked up the cheques and will determine if there has been any fraudulent use.
5:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male was sitting on his motorcycle outside a beer store, drinking. Member attended and issued a breath demand; the male provided a sample of his breath which resulted in him being issued a 24-hour driving suspension.
8:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – ATV Trails area – Complainant reported finding a burned-out SUV that appeared to have been at the location for some time. Member attended, SUV towed after it was confirmed to have been reported stolen in Edmonton. Under investigation.
September 6
9:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 620/RR 75 – Complainant reported a large religious gathering on a nearby property where only one volunteer appeared to be trying to handle traffic causing traffic tie-ups and safety concerns. Members determined that Town of Drayton Valley peace officers were patrolling the area.
11:59 a.m. – Brazeau County – Easyford Campground – Complainant reported an aggressive dog jumped and barked at her and the owners were unable to control it; complainant had not been bitten. Brazeau County Animal Control advised.
7:02 p.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported his roommate’s car was on fire in their driveway. Member attended with firefighters who extinguished the fire. Fire did not appear suspicious.
11:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol observed two side-by-sides driving on the street. Member attempted a traffic stop but the riders fled onto a lease site and into bush, successfully avoiding police.
September 7
6:24 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a broken door glass in a commercial building. Members attended, suspect broke two doors and entered a salon stealing a small amount of cash. Under investigation.
8:32 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Complainant reported that the ex of the woman whose property she is currently staying at came to the yard and started yelling at her, telling her to get out, even though his ex was not home. Member attended and found that the male had left and had been previously warned about similar behaviour. Member contacted the male and warned him that if it happened again, he would be charged.
8:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported that two packages were stolen from his mother-in-law’s porch after being delivered by a courier.
10:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Complainant called to report that the male who had been warned about an hour and a half earlier, had returned, yelled at her and then unplugged her trailer. Members attended and arrested the male; he was released to appear in court at a later date with conditions to not attend the location of the complaint.
3:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported that $140 was stolen from her purse over the past two days. A suspect name was provided. Under investigation.
5:14 p.m. – Brazeau County – Members attended a residence for a report of a domestic dispute. No charges were laid but the intoxicated male was taken to a hotel for the night to prevent continuation.
5:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her son, who currently resides in Atlantic Canada is harassing her, sending her death threats and leaving voicemails. Member requested that local police locate and warn the son about his behaviour.
7:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that her boyfriend’s ex had threatened her with a crowbar. Members attended and after investigating, a female was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing; she was subsequently released by a justice of the peace on conditions.
September 8
9:07 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported concerning and occasionally aggressive behaviour by her ex. Under investigation.
12:07 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that his brother is arriving home later than his curfew conditions dictate, and he is concerned he may be involved in crimes. Members will perform curfew checks to monitor.
2:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant reported losing her wallet downtown, and that someone had tried to use her debit card. Her wallet had been found in an alley, missing the debit card as well as a pre-paid Visa and some cash. Under investigation.
3:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Complainant reported a car drove right past a school bus with the red lights flashing. Plate number provided, under investigation.
4:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested a well-being check on a male relative and for police to arrange the return of his dog which has been with another relative while the male was in a hospital. Member unable to reach the male, who was located deceased in his residence the following morning. Death not suspicious, medical examiner investigating further.
6:25 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported several people reported seeing his truck in the area the day before; the truck had been stolen in Edson on September 4. Member spoke to the complainant who said he had been told of sightings in Buck Creek, Drayton Valley and on Elk River Road. Given the time delay and the large area involved patrols were not initiated but other members were advised of the reports.
September 9
9:30 a.m. – Whitby Hall area – Complainant reported copper wire stolen from a lease site. Under investigation.
10:25 a.m. – Parkland County – Third party complaint of threats from a father toward a son and general safety concerns; the son has also allegedly made troubling statements about his father which could also be taken as threats. Under investigation, nothing corroborated at this time.
10:33 a.m. – Yellowhead County – Hwy 753 – Complainant reported that sometime in the past five weeks culprits entered a decommissioned lease site, cut down a power pole and stole transformer parts.
1:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported fuel stolen from a grain truck, occurred sometime over the past three weeks.
2:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a car passed the school bus she was driving, while the red lights were out and flashing. Plate number provided, under investigation.
5:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her iPhone that was scheduled for pickup was later marked as delivered with an unfamiliar signature. Under investigation.
September 10
2:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol observed a blue Chevy pickup displaying the license plate of a male known to be on a curfew. Member attempted a traffic stop, but the truck fled, last seen heading down Hwy 620. Members attended the residence of the male on curfew and confirmed he was home as required, and that the plate involved was stolen by a former acquaintance.
3:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Member on patrol was flagged down by a motorist and advised that a pumpjack off Hwy 22 was leaking oil. Member was directed to the site and confirmed a small leak from the well head; the involved company was called and sent out an employee to deal with the problem.
1:21 p.m. – Lodgepole area – Member attended a lease site for a report of a break and enter; supplies and tools had been stolen. Under investigation.
2:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that her e-bike had been stolen from McDonald’s parking lot by a male in a black smaller sedan with a silver front bumper. Under investigation.
5:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported her son had been assaulted near the high school; three older youths pulled up in a grey car and demanded money and his hat, but he fought them off and was able to run home. Member investigating, but has concerns regarding the credibility of the information as it was provided.
