Parkland RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying a male who they say approached a 12-year-old boy and offered him a ride.
The incident reportedly took place at Wabamun Lake Provincial Park at about 3:30 p.m. on July 27.
Police say the male was driving a white van with dark windows, with the words “Plumbing &” written on the side. The unknown individual allegedly offered the young boy a ride and asked if he was cold and lost.
The boy caught the attention of a bystander, who stood by him until the unknown male left without further incident.
Police would like to speak with this unknown male, who is described as:
- 40s age range
- Fair complexion
- Blue eyes
- 6’3”
- 200 lbs
- Brown hair, long brown beard
- Wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans
A composite sketch of the individual has also been released.
The RCMP would also like to speak to the bystander who helped the boy.
