A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Brazeau County, near Brazeau Dam, Cynthia and Lodgepole.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and persist into the evening.
Officials remind: when thunder roars, go indoors, as lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
ECCC says strong wind gusts can damage trees or building and overturn vehicles, and large hail can cause significant damage and injury.
