The Parkland RCMP reports that a potential explosive device turned in to the detachment has been “removed” and normal operations have resumed.
On the evening of July 31, around 5 p.m., Parkland RCMP advised that the detachment’s front parking lot was evacuated and the building was closed to the public.
A potential explosive device was reportedly surrendered at the detachment, prompting the closure.
Officers from the Alberta RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit were deployed to secure the item(s).
