There’s a packed weekend ahead for Buck Lake visitors and residents.
July 11-13 marks the 2025 Buck Lake Stampede, its ninth iteration.
Friday starts off strong with a Wildrose Rodeo Association (WRA) slack at 11 a.m. Then at 6 p.m., there will be chuckwagon and chariot races, followed by local rodeo events.
All evening long, attendees can enjoy the beer gardens, plus a dance at 9 p.m. featuring Cronic Dawgs.
That’s all just the precursor to Saturday’s action, starting as early as 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at Buck Lake Hall. The parade will then take off at 11 a.m., and this year’s theme is “Proud to be Albertan.”
Beer gardens open again at noon and the WRA Rodeo saddles up at 1 p.m. After more chuckwagon and chariot races, there will be a stampede supper at 5:30 p.m., with a brisket dinner available for $25.
The dance floor opens up again at 9 p.m., with another set by Cronic Dawgs.
Sunday is family day, when kids 12 and under can enter for free if accompanied by an adult.
Once again, pancakes will be served from 8-10 a.m., when Cowboy Church takes place. The WRA Rodeo will be under the lights again at 1 p.m., with more chuckwagon and chariot races to wrap up the weekend.
Aside from Sunday’s exception, tickets are $15 for ages 17 and up, $12 for seniors over 65, $8 for students aged seven to 16, and free for those under six.
