Crews will be performing traffic light maintenance in Drayton Valley from July 3-4.
This may cause lights to flash periodically, and the town would like to remind drivers how to approach those intersections:
- Flashing red: treat the light as a stop sign, coming to a complete stop and proceeding when it’s safe.
- Flashing yellow: treat the light more like a yield by slowing down and proceeding with caution.
Officials remind that a red flashing light doesn’t necessarily mean it becomes a four way stop, as those travelling in the perpendicular direction to you may have flashing yellow, giving them the right of way.
