The Town of Drayton Valley is holding a public hearing regarding proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw and Business License Bylaw.
The public hearing will take place at 9 a.m. on June 4 in Council Chambers of the Drayton Valley Civic Centre.
Regarding the Business License Bylaw, council is considering an amendment that would introduce potential returns on investment for businesses, including membership in the Business Support Network, a free fire inspection and a choice to belong to the Trespassing Agent Program.
There are two changes proposed to the Land Use Bylaw:
- An amendment to change the size of allowable acreage in the Residential Acreage District to a range of 1.21 hectares to 10.12 hectares.
- An amendment to introduce a Residential Compact Acreage District, the purpose of which would be “to provide higher density acreage residential development on lots from 0.4 hectares to 1.21 hectares in areas where multiparcel urban development is not practical,” the town says.
Both hearings will also be broadcast via Webex. Anyone who cannot attend is encouraged to submit comments in writing to the Planning and Development department via email (plandev@draytonvalley.ca) and they will be provided to council as part of the formal public hearing.
