A Drayton Valley resident has been arrested following an alleged road rage incident causing a collision between two vehicles travelling on Highway 22 on Tuesday morning.
On May 20, RCMP responded to a collision on the south side of Drayton Valley.
Officers report the vehicles had been travelling eastbound when they collided, causing one to roll over into the westbound ditch. The driver of this vehicle was extracted by Drayton Valley Fire Services and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The other driver was arrested after an investigation led police to believe it was a road rage incident.
As a result, 55-year-old Kevin Hornle, of Drayton Valley, was arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm and aggravated assault.
He was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is next scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley on June 17.
“We would like to thank the public for their cooperation while we conducted our investigation,” said Sgt. Dan Ferri, operations NCO for Drayton Valley RCMP. “This is a good time to remind the public to be courteous on the road and always drive safely.”
