February 26
8:19 a.m. – Brazeau County – Emergency Protection Order (EPO) received to be served on a local resident. EPO served by an assisting detachment as the male was out of town.
10:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that while on a Zoom call with a potential male client, he exposed himself. Under investigation, though the name and number used appear to be fake.
4:35 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a family member was at his residence and was not welcome there. Member attended and gave the known male a ride back to town.
6:53 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported an unwanted male sleeping at a table in a restaurant. Member attended located the male from the previous file; he was transported to the shelter pods.
11:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Member conducted curfew check on a female. The female was not at either possible location as required by her curfew. Charges pending.
February 27
12:01 a.m. – Brazeau County – Member conducted a curfew check on a male who was not located and thus breached his curfew. Charges pending,
10:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Staff at a store reported a counterfeit bill passed by a customer. Under investigation.
5:44 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reported a pickup with a load of logs driving erratically and losing logs. Member located the truck and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued tickets for having no valid insurance or registration, and the truck was towed.
10:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to attend court.
11:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff at the bar reported two females refusing to leave, and that one had become physical with staff. Members attended and identified the two who left with warnings. Shortly after the pair were seen in another bar where staff were advised to discontinue service. No further calls.
February 28
9:34 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported mischief to a propane tank on a lease site, likely due to theft of propane. Member attended, potential suspect identified. Under investigation.
10:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Complainant reported damage to a shelter pod by a guest. Complainant and members aware that the male suspect has mental health issues, which were undoubtedly a factor. No charges requested though the male was banned from using the service.
11:01 a.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a break and enter to a lease site, with some items stolen. Suspects entered via snowmobiles. Snowmobile tracks were followed a few km’s to another lease site where the snowmobiles had been stashed. All three machines had been reported stolen in Parkland County on February 23 and were recovered. Potential suspects identified, under investigation.
11:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a family member was attempting to harm herself. Members attended and transported the female to hospital for treatment.
4:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his father’s residence broken into sometime in the past few weeks. Damage done inside the residence and two firearms observed. Member attended and seized an old incomplete 22 rifle and a BB gun. Under investigation, another family member is likely involved.
9:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported his black 2003 Chevy Tahoe had been stolen from in front of his apartment building within the last hour. The Tahoe was recovered the following day and a male was charged.
11:35 p.m. – Brazeau County – Member conducting patrols in the area where stolen snowmobiles were located earlier noticed a white Chevy pickup with a sled deck. The truck fled the area and could not be relocated. A report was subsequently received of a stolen truck abandoned in Cynthia after it apparently ran out of gas. Members attended and recovered the truck that fled earlier; it had been stolen from Edmonton. Members were unable to locate any suspects in the area. Under investigation.
March 1
2:31 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Staff reported a male loitering outside a business. Member attended and spoke to the male who agreed to move along.
10:56 a.m. – Brazeau County – Member attended a residence for follow up from an earlier file and attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious truck leaving the property, but the driver fled. The member was able to identify the driver and charges are pending.
1:39 p.m. – Rocky Rapids – Members attended the area after a report that a stolen SUV had been seen in the area. The SUV was not located in the area, but was recovered later in town.
3:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported the owner of the residence she is currently staying at threatened to come and burn it down. Under investigation.
4:16 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported his daughter came to his residence and appeared seriously injured from an assault. Member located the female who was taken to hospital for treatment. Assault being investigated by another detachment.
5:35 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported seeing his stolen Chevy Tahoe driving in town. Members located the vehicle freshly abandoned and found the suspect walking nearby. A 31-year-old was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including possession of property obtained by crime. They were held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody by a justice of the peace.
6:54 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported she was experiencing some mental health issues and requested a ride to the Ponoka Centennial Center. Member spoke to the female and her family and determined the grounds for an apprehension under the Mental Health Act were not met; family agreed to monitor her and perhaps take her to Ponoka the next day. RPACT (rural police and crisis team) referral also made.
10:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff reported an unwanted male loitering for hours. Members attended and removed the known male from the area. Multiple recent calls involve the same male, members working with RPACT and an outreach worker for possible solutions.
March 2
5:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Member attended a seniors’ residence for a report of a deceased female. Paramedics and firefighters had been unable to revive the female. Death not suspicious and the medical examiner will not be investigating further. Next of kin notified.
8:11 a.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported theft of cable and damage to a lease site northwest of Cynthia.
8:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff again reporting a male not leaving the hospital after receiving treatment. Member attended and transported the male to Warming Hearts where he could liaise with an outreach worker.
1:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a sometimes boyfriend had assaulted her at a residence. Members initially unable to locate the complainant but spoke to the suspect, who admitted to assaulting the complainant. Members investigated further and the male was arrested and released with a court date.
3:31 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Report received of cable theft from a remote lease site.
8:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her teenage son was having an episode. Members attended and found the son acting in a concerning manner and making troubling statements; he also stated he hadn’t been taking his medication. Member apprehended the boy and transported him to an appropriate facility for treatment.
March 3
8:49 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported being defrauded of approximately $5,000 by a fake bank employee whom she provided passwords to. Under investigation.
10:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report he was being harassed by his ex-girlfriend. Under investigation.
2:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported his 2006 GMC Sierra stolen from behind his house, occurred sometime after the evening of February 28. Under investigation.
3:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported an unwanted male in the Provincial Building. Member spoke to the male who was not receptive to any suggestions of where he could go, though he did agree to leave.
March 4
9:01 a.m. – Drayton Valley – EPO received to be served on a local female. Member located the female later in the day and served the EPO.
11:34 a.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported theft of cables and damage to a remote lease site. Under investigation.
9:04 a.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported theft of wire and related damage at a lease site.
12:09 p.m. – Yellowhead County/Brazeau County – Complainant reported theft of cable from three different remote lease sites.
