Parkland RCMP have arrested two individuals and issued a warrant for another following an investigation into gunshots reported in Spring Meadow Estates.
On Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, Parkland RCMP received reports of shots being fired at a home in Spring Meadow Estates. Fortunately, there were no injuries in either shooting.
Police say their investigation revealed the victims were being threatened to extort money from them. The Parkland RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) took over the investigation with aid from partners in other parts of Alberta, B.C. and Ontario.
One suspect has been identified as Jagdeep Singh, a 24-year-old foreign national. On Nov. 17, he was arrested while travelling through Red Deer, at which point a search allegedly revealed a firearm.
He was released pending further investigation, and the Crown ultimately approved the charges and issued a warrant for his arrest.
The firearm was also seized for testing at the Edmonton Police Service/Provincial Firearms Lab and was allegedly found to be connected to seven additional shootings across the country. The RCMP add that additional evidence has linked the suspect to extortions targeting the South Asian community and the Parkland County shooting.
As a result of the investigation, Singh faces the following charges:
- Extortion (x2)
- Discharging a firearm with intent (x2)
- Firearms offences (x8)
- Disguise with intent (x2)
His location is unknown, and a Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued. He is also reportedly wanted by the Canada Border Services Agency on an immigration warrant.
If you have information about Singh’s whereabouts, please contact the Parkland RCMP.
Additionally, police say their investigation identified two more suspects who allegedly discharged a firearm from a moving vehicle. They are believed to be part of the same crime group, though not connected to the Parkland shooting.
On Feb. 11, 25-year-old Ravinder Singh, a foreign national, was arrested and subsequently charged with:
- Discharging a firearm with intent (x2)
- Weapons offences (x4)
He is being held in custody.
On Feb. 13, Parkland RCMP assisted with executing a search warrant on a home and vehicle in Edmonton, where they say they found a firearm matching that used in the Parkland shooting. A 24-year-old foreign national, Gurpreet Singh, was arrested and charged with:
- Discharging a firearm with intent
- Weapons offences (x2)
Police say he also remains in custody.
“I would like to acknowledge the Parkland GIS team for their dedication and professionalism; they have lived this investigation since October 2025. I’d also like to recognize our Parkland plain clothes units, General Duty members and all our other internal partners; our Digital Forensic Services, District CRU, District GIS and external partners from across the country,” said Inspector Kevin McGillivray, of the Parkland RCMP. “By collaborating with our external partners, including Edmonton Police Services, B.C. Provincial Extortion Task Force, OPP MCU, Peel Regional and CBSA, we have been able to make progress with not only our investigation, but with many others. [When] investigating a criminal organization, there can’t be any lines in the sand. Open dialogue, partnerships and collaboration is key to moving these investigations forward.”
