It was a busy but challenging weekend for the Drayton Valley Thunder, with two games on the road and one at home.
Friday night, they were handled 6-0 by the Canmore Eagles on the road.
The Eagles scored once in the first, three in the second, and two more in the third.
In period three, Breken Northgrave, Jack Sears and a Canmore player all earned 10-minute misconduct penalties.
The Eagles also outshot the Thunder 42-32.

On Saturday, the Thunder faced the Eagles again, but fell 4-2.
Nash Nicolay scored first for Drayton Valley on Saturday at 11:18 of the opening period. He was assisted by Antonio Bevacqua and Loughlan McMullan.
Heading into the second frame with a 1-0 lead, the score jumped to 2-0 Thuder at 2:16 after Avery Watson scored. Daniel Zhou got the helper.
Canmore scored twice in period two, however, and twice more in period three, including one powerplay goal, to finish on top 4-2.

On Sunday, the Thunder started a three-game home stand by hosting the Lloydminster Bobcats.
The Bobcats scored three unanswered goals in the first frame, including a shorthanded goal and two powerplay goals.
In period two, a Bobcat earned a double minor for high sticking, sending Drayton to the powerplay. With assistance from Caedem Emmett and Lukas Miller, Taynton Lavender capitalized with his 14th of the season to narrow Lloydminster’s lead to 3-1.
The Bobcats dominated the third period action again, however, scoring three more goals by 13:42 for a 6-1 lead.
On the Thunder’s last powerplay opportunity though, Jack Sears netted one more for Drayton at 16:41 for a 6-2 finish. He was assisted by Damian Hill and Caedem Emmett.
The Canmore Eagles are first in the AJHL South Division while the Lloydminster Bobcats are third in the north. The Drayton Valley Thunder are sixth in the south, with a record of 14-31-3-2.
