February 12
8:40 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male acting erratically near the front door of an apartment building. Member attended and arrested the known male, who was held in cells until sober. Member determined the male was breaching a condition of his probation, but as he had just been released from Edmonton Remand Center and may have been unaware the conditions were still active, he was provided a copy of his probation order and released with a warning.
9:04 a.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported a power transformer pulled down and wire stolen. Under investigation.
9:43 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that someone put a foreign substance into the gas tank of his daughter’s car, causing it not to start. Under investigation.
10:40 a.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to investigate a third-party complaint of possible sexual interference.
12:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court.
1:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reported a small cargo trailer had been stolen from a business yard sometime in the past couple months. Unknown exactly when, as no one noticed the trailer was gone. Under investigation.
1:55 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 485 – Complainant reported that while at a lease site waiting for a crew who were to repair earlier electrical damage, a black SUV pulled in and then left after seeing him. The SUV appeared to be a newer mid-size model, but no plate was obtained. No patrols were made as the incident had occurred about eight hours earlier.
2:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported inappropriate behaviour by one young girl directed at another young girl at a local school. Information will be forwarded to Child and Family Services for investigation.
4:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court.
4:40 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported theft of copper from a lease site.
6:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a suspicious male had possibly tried to obtain keys at a dealership to steal a truck. Member located the male in the area and warned him to not return to the location. Member is very familiar with this male who is known for odd and annoying behaviour, but not so much for stealing vehicles.
9:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a suspicious male hanging around outside an apartment building. Member attended and checked the property, no such male located. Member suspected it was the male dealt with at 8:40 a.m. and then again at 6:39 p.m.
February 13
3:47 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Complainant reported a blue truck doing burnouts in the area. Members attended but the truck was no longer around.
6:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members investigated a report of a possibly suicidal male after someone called the 988 help line saying they were going to jump off a building. Based on phone ping and subscriber information members attended a residence but found only a mother and son who both denied calling and said they had been sleeping.
9:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male sleeping in an apartment lobby. Member attended and arrested the known male for breaching his probation as he obviously didn’t understand the warning issued a day earlier for the same issue. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a justice of the peace with a court date.
4:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported three females shoplifted from a store and left in a silver hatchback with bungee cords holding the hatch closed. A plate was provided but it did not match the described vehicle. Under investigation.
7:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported losing his wallet on 52 Avenue and believes someone picked it up. Member conducting a bar walk on the 14th recovered the wallet from a male who claimed to have found it by a dumpster; wallet appeared to be intact minus a small amount of cash.
February 14
4:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Several calls received by both police and paramedics for a male who was intoxicated, threatening self harm and damaging property in a residence. Members attended and arrested a male who was charged with assault and mischief and held in cells until sober. He was subsequently released on an undertaking with conditions and a court date.
5:58 p.m. – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported his green F-250 had been stolen sometime in the past couple days. Member located and recovered the truck about an hour and a half later, parked on a street in town. Under investigation.
9:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a truck stopped on the roadway. The driver provided two samples of his breath, both resulting in a “warn.” The driver was issued a three-day suspension, and the truck was impounded for seven days. The driver was also found to be breaching a conditional sentence order and so was arrested and held for a telephone hearing.
February 15
7:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that his white Chevy Avalanche had been stolen overnight from his hotel parking lot. Truck was recovered in Edmonton on February 17. Under investigation.
8:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 42 St – Complainant reported that someone tried to steal his truck overnight, leaving the ignition damaged. Under investigation.
2:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her vehicle window was damaged and two tires slashed by her boyfriend. Members attended and investigated, but the male suspect had since left. The suspect later attended the detachment and turned himself in. He was held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of mischief, assault and uttering threats and was subsequently released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date.
February 16
10:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a dog running loose in the McDonald’s parking lot. Member attended and located the dog and its owner; the owner was issued a verbal warning and advised that the parking lot was not a suitable place for a loose dog.
February 17
10:24 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male had stolen propane tanks from a display cabinet; video surveillance obtained. Under investigation.
3:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested a well-being check on two boys who had been sent back home from the bus hub as, due to weather, the wheels on the bus were in fact not going round and round. Member confirmed that the boys made it back home okay.
5:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible breach of conditions by a male. Member attended the location and found that the male was no longer there, and that the breach may have been initiated by the person he was to have no contact with.
February 18
6:17 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported two suspicious males with a snowmobile that she suspected was stolen. Member attended and located the pair who were changing the battery on a snowmobile that was not stolen.
8:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant requested assistance in removing a hotel guest who had worn out his welcome. Member attended and after some arguing, the male left with his belongings. The male then attended the detachment where he cursed and yelled in the lobby insinuating members stole some of his property even though he was observed putting the items in his bag while still at the hotel. The male left the detachment after speaking to members. Issues with the male are mental health and substance abuse related.
11:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Male charged after failing to attend court appearance.
2:13 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St N – Complainant reported a suspicious truck with wire and propane tanks in the back. Last seen headed toward Highway 22 with two male occupants. Member patrolled the area but did not locate the truck.
4:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members attended a motel to assist paramedics with a deceased male. Death did not appear suspicious though the medical examiner will investigate further.
5:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male had used an apartment building entrance as a toilet. The male had left though there is an obvious suspect for this incident. Under investigation.
7:26 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported a deceased deer on the highway, just north of the intersection with Highway 39. Member attended, located the deer and removed it from the road.
9:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Anonymous complainant reported that a male officers are looking for was at a residence with a stolen vehicle and possibly had access to weapons. Members attended and determined the car described was not stolen and the male was not there, though he likely had been.
10:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a female reported missing in Red Deer may have been in her store earlier in the day. Member attended and reviewed video surveillance but did not believe it was the same person.
