Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a snow squall watch for Brazeau County, near Drayton Valley and Breton.
Officials say snow squall bands have developed over northwestern Alberta this morning and are tracking southeast. These squalls may reduce visibility to near zero at times due to blowing snow, as winds gust up to 80 km/h, or possibly even more.
Conditions should improve by this evening.
In the meantime, travel may be hazardous. Drivers should prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
ECCC officials say snow squall watches are issued when localized, intense snowfall, causing rapid accumulation and/or reduced visibility, is possible.
Stay up to date on any changes at the ECCC website.
