February 5
8:12 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her unlocked car had been entered overnight and rummaged through. Insurance and registration documents were missing.
11:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Assistance requested in serving a King’s Bench Court Restraining Order. Order served as required.
2:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female on the sidewalk, scraping the ground and yelling at the complainant. Member attended, the female had dropped her phone in a puddle and was trying to retrieve the pieces and put it back together; she claimed she yelled at the complainant as she was being rude to her.
3:42 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that tenants who were recently evicted had returned, and a male was yelling and demanding a damage deposit back. Members attended but found the former tenants had left, perhaps due to the male having out of province warrants. Complainant was advised to call again if they returned.
8:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. Investigation led to the issuing of five tickets, including for having no insurance. The truck was towed.
11:55 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant attended the detachment to report being assaulted by a family member, and that a phone used to record the incident was also smashed. Under investigation.
February 6
8:18 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported two males were causing havoc in her residence and waving a firearm. Members attended and found both suspects sleeping and the complainant intoxicated. The two males were cooperative and agreed to pack their belongings and leave; no firearm was located.
12:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Staff at a business reported receiving several nonsensical emails from a male over the past couple weeks. Members aware of the male who has mental health issues. The male involved was apprehended on an unrelated file and will not be able to access email for awhile.
11:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant called from a hotel stating her father would not let her stay at his residence and that she had no money for a hotel. Member initially took her to the shelter pods but then redirected to the hospital so she could complete medical treatment. Suggestions made on accessing funds so she could return to her residence in another town.
February 7
1:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported issues with his laptop, possibly it had been swapped out by unknown suspects. Members attended and with consent took possession of the laptop as it appeared to be a trigger for mental health issues. Referral made to RPACT (rural police and crisis team) for follow-up. Members also assisted Calgary Police by obtaining fingerprints from the male for a charge in their jurisdiction.
9:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a male found deceased in a residence. Death not suspicious, Medical Examiner will not be investigating further.
12:07 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported receiving multiple calls from people wanting to buy his truck, even though it is not for sale and in his yard. Complainant suspects an ex may be involved. Under investigation.
12:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male going out onto the road and yelling about issues with his man parts. Members patrolled the area but did not locate the reportedly distressed male.
12:46 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported items have been listed for sale on Kijiji and that her boyfriend has been getting calls all day. Neither the complainant nor her boyfriend posted the items. Complainant suspects her boyfriend’s ex is responsible; related to the report received at 12:07 p.m.
1:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male causing a disturbance in a store, yelling at staff about nonsensical issues. The male had since left but was identified by staff as he had dropped his ID and returned to pick it up. Members are aware of the male and advised staff to call if he returned.
5:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – RV Park – Complainant reported a trailer in the RV Park near Holy Trinity School appeared to have been broken into. Members spoke to the owner of the trailer; it had not been broken into, but a mess was developing that the owner was aware of. Owner agreed to start cleaning up the area.
5:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his daughter broke into his residence while he was not home. Members spoke to a witness who confirmed the female broke a basement window to enter. Members arrested the female inside the residence; she was held for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released by a justice of the peace with a court date and conditions. Related to report received Feb. 6 at 11:48 p.m.
February 8
1:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Complainant reported being assaulted and dragged from a vehicle by a female acquaintance. Complainant also reported her wallet was missing. Members located a female who was arrested and released on an undertaking with conditions. The missing wallet was recovered inside the vehicle. File remains under investigation.
3:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 62 St – Complainant reported two males captured on video surveillance trespassing in a business yard. Members attended but the suspects had already left and were not located; it appeared they had been scavenging metal from a dumpster.
7:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her ex is refusing to return her SUV that he took to work. Under investigation.
8:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a family member had been living with her for several months but is no longer welcome as he is verbally abusive. Member attended and determined the issues are a result of the family members concerns of alleged drug use by the complainant. Family member agreed to move but will need time to find a new place. Complainant provided some advice should the family member not move.
12:32 p.m. – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported two cards missing from her wallet, potential suspect name provided. Member determined no money had been lost, though a female did attempt a purchase.
6:16 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported stalking behaviour by the ex-boyfriend of a family member. Under investigation.
8:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two women causing a disturbance in a hotel lobby. Members attended, no females located in the lobby. Members spoke to the male in his room and subsequently arrested him for breaching his probation order and uttering threats. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody.
February 9
1:49 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that during an argument with her spouse he threatened to beat her dog. While speaking to members the complainant also disclosed offences that occurred a couple of months earlier. Members arrested the male who was held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of assault and uttering threats; he was subsequently released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date.
9:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a female emailed the anti-fraud center with concerns that suggested mental health issues may be involved. Complainant requested a member check on the female and determine if there was a fraud concern. Member spoke to the female at her residence and determined her phone may have been hacked, member suggested she call the fraud center rather than email so she can better articulate her concerns.
12:09 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported that over the past few months there had been ongoing attempts to make fraudulent purchases with his credit cards and Apple account. No money had been lost as the complainant’s banks had blocked potentially fraudulent purchases. Complainant has worked with his bank to upgrade security on the accounts; no new attempts reported since changes were made.
12:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her ex had breached a no-contact condition by telling another friend he was going to steal her pet, and that he had been seen shooting a gun, despite having a firearms ban. Member advised the complainant that as no pet had been stolen there had been no contact and no breach. Member also told the complainant to have the friend who witnessed the shooting incident to report directly to police so the information could be investigated.
February 10
6:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 St – Complainant reported a male yelling and acting suspiciously in front of her residence. Members patrolled the area but did not locate the male.
6:37 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being threatened over social media. Complainant had been discussing Alberta potentially separating when he received a message telling him that if separation happened the suspect would “put him in a hospital bed permanently.” Under investigation, suspect believed to be in another province.
11:36 p.m. – Brazeau County – Request received to assist Edmonton Police who were looking for a male reported missing and who’s phone had pinged in the Lodgepole area. Members located the male who had been trying to harm himself. Due to the method involved paramedics were called and the male was transported to hospital for treatment.
February 11
7:01 a.m. – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported a neighbour was outside screaming and causing a disturbance. Members attended and determined the female was having a mental health crisis. The female was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to an appropriate facility for treatment.
9:39 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported suspicious purchases of parts from a business with large orders placed and paid for over the phone by credit card. Member attended and confirmed the purchases as undoubtedly fraudulent and likely using compromised credit cards. One purchase had been picked up the previous day, and another was to be picked up later this day. Member advised the complainant to not release further product or take further orders from the suspects. Member returned later in the day and spoke to employees of two different companies sent to pickup product and determined they were not involved and had only been contracted for the transport of items. Similar reports have been made in other provinces. Under investigation.
11:43 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reported a male acting strangely and riding a bicycle up and down the road, stopping at driveways. Member attended the area but did not locate any suspicious cyclists.
12:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a dog allegedly stolen from an animal shelter near Bashaw was in Drayton Valley after a male called the shelter to say the dog was at his residence. Member retrieved the dog which was then picked up by shelter staff. Original file being investigated by Bashaw RCMP.
2:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant requested a check on an elderly male in an SUV who appeared confused and was shaking when he got out of his vehicle in a parking lot. Member attended and spoke to the elderly male who was annoyed someone would call about him and stated that yes, he moves slow because he is old. Member had no concerns about the male’s well-being or abilities to function.
11:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported two males who were kicked out of the bar were trying to get back in. Member located the two in a taxi and ensured they were aware to not return.
