The Drayton Valley Thunder fell 5-2 to the Camrose Kodiaks Tuesday night.
The Kodiaks scored four unanswered goals by the end of period two for a 4-0 lead.
The Thunder started to turn their luck around at 16:06 in period three with a powerplay goal from Loughlan McMullan, his ninth of the season. Taynton Lavender and Avery Watson assisted.
Drayton’s Cohen Carter followed that up about one minute later with his first goal of the season. Antonio Bevacqua got the helper.
But Camrose secured the 5-2 decision with an empty-netter with 17 seconds left in the game.
Thunder netminder Kaden Clegg stopped 35 of 39 shots on the goal.
The team has two games left in its home stand, and sits in sixth in the AJHL South Division with a record of 12-25-3-2.
