The Drayton Valley Thunder are on a three-game win streak following Tuesday night’s game.
On Dec. 9, an impressive 1,201 community members showed up to cheer on the team as they took the Camrose Kodiaks 4-2 at home.
The Thunder’s Will Jamieson netted the first goal of the game at 6:01, with assistance from Colson Ganser.
At 11:25, Damian Hill and Cohen Carter assisted Dylan Snelgrove in bumping the team to 2-0, but with 2:22 left in the frame, the Kodiaks narrowed Drayton Valley’s lead to 2-1.
In the second, Camrose’s Shane Purves earned a hooking minor, sending Drayton to the powerplay. Avery Watson, assisted by Damian Hill and Loughlan McMullan, took advantage one minute later to secure an insurance goal and bump the team to 3-1.
At 7:46 in period 3, Caedem Emmett netted the Thunder’s fourth of the night, with the helper going to Colson Ganser.
The Kodiaks scored again at 11:22, but the Thunder maintained their 4-2 lead to the end of the match.
