The Drayton Valley Thunder organization has agreed to contract extensions with Head Coach and General Manager Jeff Truitt and Assistant Coach and General Manager Josh Pufahl.
The extensions will keep the pair behind the bench through the 2027-2028 season.
The organization says Truitt has been instrumental in establishing a culture of accountability, development, and competitiveness, while Pufahl has solidified the skill development and organization within the club, creating needed stability.
“This is an exciting day for the Drayton Valley Thunder,” said Team President Kevin Young. “Jeff, and by extension, Josh, Desiree and Mark have demonstrated an exceptional alignment with ownership and a commitment to our players, our organization and the community. Extending their contracts was a key priority for us, as it secures the foundation for our long-term goals. Their combined experience and passion for developing young men into great hockey players is exactly what we need as we continue to strive for excellence in the AJHL.”
The Thunder organization says it is focused on sustaining a competitive program and believes the continuity provided by maintaining the same coaching staff is vital to achieving that vision.
