October 2
8:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male in the vestibule of an apartment building who had been told multiple times he is not welcome there. Member attended and issued the male a trespass ticket with a court date.
11:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a male who failed to appear in court for his scheduled trial.
2:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to assist Probations with adding a warrant for a male who failed to comply with his conditions.
6:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Members responded to 911 calls that a female was sending suicidal messages. Members were then advised that the complainants had located the female and were waiting for police. Member attended with paramedics who transported the female to hospital for assessment.
7:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a young boy and an older female in a fast-food restaurant; the boy was heard telling the female that she was not his mom, and the female told the boy to be quiet. Members attended and the pair were gone and not located in the area. Video was viewed which did not show any concerning behaviours.
October 3
11:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported a male outside a bank yelling and punching the air. Member attended and advised the well-known male to move along or come to jail. He chose to conduct his exercise routine elsewhere. No air was injured in the incident.
3:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Skate Park – Member attended the skate park for a confrontation between parties and a report of threats. Member attended, incident is related to ongoing allegations of harassment or bullying of two minor teenagers by an 18-year-old. After investigation the 18-year-old was arrested for threatening the parent of the minors and released with a court date. Charge pending approval by Crown Prosecutor.
3:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported an unwanted male scavenging copper from a business dumpster. Member attended and the male left when asked to, claiming that he will not return as he knows he is not wanted on the property.
October 4
10:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the Splash Park – An anonymous complainant reported a loud, speeding vehicle in the area. Member patrolled but did not locate the vehicle.
3:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported finding evidence that her adult daughter is communicating with a male who has no contact conditions in place. Under investigation.
4:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Skatepark – Complainant reported that his son had $45 stolen from his backpack. A possible suspect name was provided. Under investigation.
4:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that he was speaking to an alleged woman from another town in Alberta, and she asked him to send her Apple gift cards. Member spoke to the complainant and told him that the woman was not a real person, it was a common fraud, and recommended he not send anything further. Complainant confirmed he has never actually met the person. Complainant was not receptive to further advice and hung-up.
5:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a Halloween decoration stolen from her front yard. Video surveillance was posted online which led to a potential suspect being identified. Under investigation.
8:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – File opened to potentially charge a male for failing to comply with his release conditions. Insufficient evidence to proceed currently.
October 5
7:27 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Two complaints received regarding a possibly impaired female in a pickup truck. Members located the female passed out behind the wheel of her truck. Investigation led to the seizure of small quantities of drugs as well as criminal charges for operation of a vehicle while impaired by a drug and a provincial impaired driving suspension. The truck was impounded.
10:47 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Member attended and removed a male who was sleeping in the entrance to an apartment building.
2:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 38 St – Complainant reported her 2017 Outback travel trailer stolen from her driveway sometime overnight. Under investigation.
6:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members attended the bar for a report of an intoxicated male passed out at a table. The male was arrested to be lodged in cells until sober but also held for a telephone bail hearing after it was confirmed he had outstanding warrants from Edmonton. The male was released when sober on a release order issued by a justice of the peace.
8:04 p.m. – Brazeau County – Birchwood area – Members responded to two complaints regarding an impaired driver. A female had first struck a parked bus while leaving the parking lot of the golf course, and the second complaint was that she had rolled her car into the ditch. Members attended with EMS and Firefighters as it was reported the driver was trapped in the vehicle. The female was transported to Edmonton for treatment of injuries. An impaired driving investigation is ongoing.
9:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported a female yelling and refusing to leave from in front of a church. A second call was received after the female struck a male several times with a sweater. Member attended and after investigation the female was arrested for assault and released to appear in court at a later date.
October 6
4:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his truck stolen from his hotel parking lot. Truck recovered later in the day in the Edson area.
5:31 a.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Complainant reported a black Chevy pickup abandoned on a rural road. Members attended and determined the truck had been stolen from Sylvan Lake two days earlier and used in crimes in two other jurisdictions. Truck towed and held for a forensic examination.
3:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported harassing calls and messages from an acquaintance, related to a dispute over a generator. Member spoke to both and told the suspect to stop contact with the complainant or be charged.
4:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported someone went through his car during the day while it was parked behind his residence. Insurance and registration documents were missing.
11:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a male and female had shoplifted a 30-pack of Lucky Lager. Under investigation.
October 7
4:25 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported copper wire stolen from a lease site sometime in the previous week.
6:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported two males shoplifted a jacket worth $150. Member was immediately able to recognize the two suspects, and the main culprit was located and charged a couple days later after another similar incident.
October 8
8:59 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a female in a white F150 driving erratically, moving about the driving lane. Members were unable to locate the truck but spoke to the owner on the phone who explained she had dropped something while driving.
11:16 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male had shoplifted a bottle from a liquor store. Member located the male in the area and arrested him for theft. The male was held in cells until sober and released without a charge after consulting the complainant.
11:56 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported someone was prank calling her; several suspect names were provided. Member investigated and did not believe any of the named suspects were involved. Actual suspect could not be identified.
12:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported an unwanted male in the provincial building. Prior to the call being dispatched the male left the building.
2:01 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported his walled was stolen last year, and recently someone had tried to buy several vehicles in his name. Under investigation
3:58 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported sending an e-transfer for a livestock purchase and the funds were directed to a different email. Under investigation.
4:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that an employee was attacked by a male with a knife while he was walking on his lunch break. Member investigated and for several reasons, police do not believe the alleged knife attack occurred. Under investigation.
9:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported he was hit by a grey Honda in the parking lot of Independent Grocers, causing him to fall and hit his head. Complainant exchanged numbers with the driver but forgot to save it. Under investigation.
9:42 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/River Hill – Complainant reported the highway covered in hay bales causing a hazard. Member attended and confirmed the report, highways maintenance contacted to clear the road.
October 9
1:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male sleeping in the vestibule of an apartment building. Member attended and removed the male.
