A Yellowhead County man has been charged following what RCMP called a deadly altercation in the county on Oct. 7, 2025.
Levi Allen Williamson, 39, has been charged with second-degree murder, dangerous driving, and flight from police following an incident that took place at a rural tree farm in Yellowhead County.
Evansburg RCMP were called to the incident but were assisted by Mayerthorpe RCMP, Edson RCMP, as well as Alberta RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft System and Police Dog Services.
Once on scene, police found a deceased man who was identified as 50-year-old Robert Brett Macleod, a resident of Yellowhead County. Police began looking for the suspect, who fled the scene to Spruce Grove, where he was arrested. Police say the two men knew each other.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken control of the ongoing investigation.
Williamson was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Evansburg on Oct. 21, 2025.
