Long time local Patricia (Pat) Vos has joined Brazeau County’s race for reeve in the upcoming municipal election.
Please provide a little background on yourself, including how long you’ve lived in the Brazeau County area.
I first moved to Drayton Valley in 1986 and have been grateful for the many opportunities this community has provided me. My goal is to ensure there are no barriers to success — in life or in business — for the people who call Brazeau County home.
Why do you want to run for reeve?
I think it’s time for new ideas, new political contacts, fiscal responsibility, and a change in leadership.
What personal or professional experience do you have that you feel would make you a good reeve?
I’ve been on several Boards of Directors, of local and national Boards, have many weeks of leadership education from a variety of sources, including completion of the Elected Official Education Program. I was on Brazeau County Council for three years, 2007-2010, and for one year as reeve Oct. 2013 to Nov. 2014.
If elected, what would be your top priorities?
To be briefed by the CAO and the Directors of Agriculture, Public Works, both Roads, Utilities and Waste Management, Corporate Services, Budget and Finance, Planning and Development, Economic Development and Community Peace Officers and Fire Service. Then roll our sleeves up, and establish priorities for the next 12 months. Would work hard to get this done before starting work on the 2026 budget.
Where can people learn more about you and your priorities?
They can call me 1-780-542-0245, I am posting in the Western Review weekly and my team is just completing a Facebook page.
Visit our Municipal Election page for more information on the upcoming Oct. 20 municipal election.
Vos is running alongside current Reeve Bart Guyon.
