Parkland RCMP are seeking public assistance in identifying a male who approached a 12-year-old girl and allegedly attempted to lure her to his vehicle.
The incident took place on Sept. 8, 2025, at about 3:45 p.m. on Highway 779 near 48 Street in Stony Plain.
As the victim reported to RCMP, she was riding her scooter home when a white SUV with gold rims and slim profile headlights pulled over beside her. The male suspect reportedly told the girl that her mother had sent him to pick her up, trying to get her to enter his vehicle.
An adult in another vehicle stopped behind the suspect and asked if the victim was okay, at which point the SUV sped away.
Police are investigating and would like to speak with the unknown male. He is described as:
- 40- to 50-years-old
- Fair complexion
- Greyish black beard (beard a couple inches long)
- Wearing sunglasses with blue lenses
The RCMP would also like to speak with the adult witness and any other witnesses who may have information regarding this incident.
Anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the area of 48 Street and Highway 779, between 3:30-4 p.m. on Sept. 8., is asked to report to police as they may have captured the incident or suspect vehicle.
