Grab your teammates and buckle in for the Rotary Club of Drayton Valley’s Road Rally.
The rally features up to 15 km of trail, designed around clues and puzzles that will take participants around town and help them learn more about the Rotary Club in a similar fashion to a (motorized) scavenger hunt.
The event is timed, but it’s not exactly a race. Participants can find special items or complete special tasks to have time taken off their total at the end of the rally. All participants will go home with a swag bag, while the teams with the top three times will each win a prize valued at $1,000.
Teams require at least two members (one driver, one puzzle solver), but you’re welcome to include as many teammates as your vehicle can legally fit.
The event takes place on Sept. 20. Participants can register and pick up their packages at the MacKenzie Conference Centre at 2 p.m., with the rally starting at 3 p.m.
The fun continues at 5 p.m., when doors will open at the conference centre for an after party complete with: supper, catered by Cobblestone Cafe; a beer bar, hosted by Nodding Donkey Brewing; live music by Rockford Stomp; a silent auction; and of course, crowning the winners.
It’s all an effort to raise funds for the Rotary Club of Drayton Valley, which is currently focused on supporting mental health and youth services.
Whether you’d like to attend the rally, the after party, or both, tickets are $75 and cover supper catered by Cobblestone Cafe. If you’re only attending the after party, organizers ask you to put “After Party” as your team name when you register for the event. You can also register online ahead of time.
