July 17
10:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male was sleeping in the lobby of a beauty salon, doing nothing for the ambience of the premise or comfort of the clients. Member attended and removed the male.
12:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Member requested to assist firefighters with a bush fire at the homeless camp. Member attended, firefighters dealt with a small fire, unknown how it started. No injuries or damage. Drayton Valley Enforcement Services attended to assist.
2:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55A St – Complainant reported a male received several loaves of bread from a drop-in center and then proceeded to throw them around the parking lot. When asked to pick them up he was belligerent and refused. A trespass notice was issued banning the male from the location.
July 18
8:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male had shoplifted from a store. Member located the male in the area and arrested him. Items were seized and returned to the store. Complainant did not want charges, but a trespass notice was issued.
10:33 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Members were dispatched to a report that an adult male had threatened his mother. Under investigation.
4:29 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a Sea-Can had been broken into at a lease site. Unknown if anything had been taken and the incident had occurred over the previous month.
5:24 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that the previous day she had been punched in the mouth at a residence by a family member. Complainant wished to have the incident documented but not investigated further.
8:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a boy who lives near him had taken some items from his shed and shot an arrow at the shed. Members attended and retrieved most of the items which were returned to the complainant. Discretion was used in this instance to the age of the boy, but he was told it would not happen again.
11:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a break in to a residence with several firearms stolen. Member attended, potential suspect and motive obtained. Member unable to locate the suspect at the time, file remains under investigation.
July 19
1:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Member located a male who had an outstanding warrant from Calgary. The male was arrested and released on an appearance notice at the request of Calgary Police.
6:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male entered a convenience store and stole about $5 worth of ice cream treats. The male was located, and issued a trespass notice banning him from returning to the store.
11:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Complainant reported mischief to her vehicle that occurred overnight. Another adjacent vehicle was also damaged with paint on the back of both vehicles. No suspects identified and no surveillance in the area.
1:46 p.m. – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported two males came to his residence and uttered vague threats on behalf of his landlord. Under investigation.
3:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported a dog bit her dog during a dog fight due to the other dog being off leash. Member obtained photos but it couldn’t be determined which dog was not on a leash.
5:10 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Two complainants reported a disoriented, soaking wet female walking on the side of the highway past Range Road 90. Member attended and located the female who was less than cooperative and appeared under the influence. Another member assisted in identifying the female who was found to have an outstanding warrant from another detachment. Members arrested the female and held her for a telephone bail hearing on the warrant.
7:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported that someone used a chainsaw to cut down a power pole at a lease site to steal copper wire and the transformer.
8:46 p.m. – Brazeau County – Willey West – Staff requested assistance in de-escalating an argument between multiple campers in two sites. Members attended and were able to de-escalate those involved and warned them that if police had to return tickets or charges would result.
11:41 p.m. – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Complainant reported that his intoxicated adult daughter was trashing his house. Members attended and arrested the female who was held overnight to sober up and released to appear in court at a later date. Appropriate conditions were placed on the female as her father does not want her to visit again.
July 20
12:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Powerhouse Campus area – Members were dispatched to a report of an assault in progress. One male was arrested and charged and released with a court date. The confrontation resulted after the victim confronted the suspect who was allegedly trying to burn foxes out of their den.
2:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reported her red Chevrolet Equinox SUV stolen from her residence while she was camping. Under investigation.
3:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Members attended an apartment to conduct a well-being check on a male. Entry was gained to the apartment with assistance from the landlord where the male was found to need medical care. Paramedics attended and transported the male to hospital.
5:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 N – Two reports received of an erratic driver in an older Cadillac. Members located the car and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was not impaired by alcohol, but a small quantity of methamphetamine and some drug paraphernalia was seized. The driver was issued a 24-hour suspension and a ticket for careless driving.
8:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Skatepark – Complainant reported that she was with a group of friends when a female acquaintance assaulted her. Member investigated and female youth was arrested later and released on conditions with a court date. File remains under investigation.
July 21
6:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 Ave – Complainant reported her car was entered overnight and her wallet is missing. The wallet contained some cards, ID and about $4 cash. Some cards, cash and ID were stolen.
8:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported that overnight someone entered his unlocked car and used his garage door opener to access the garage. Unknown if anything was stolen, under investigation.
8:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a couple in a neighbouring apartment were having a domestic dispute. Members attended and eventually arrested both the male and female for assaulting one another. Both were then lodged in cells to await telephone bail hearings. Both were later released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date.
11:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Lions West Valley Park – Complainant reported someone setting up a tarp across from the pool. Drayton Valley Enforcement Services responded to deal with the potential issues.
1:28 p.m. – Parkland County – Moon Lake vicinity – Complainant reported a neighbour was shooting and she could smell gun powder indicating he may be shooting too close to the property line. Member attended and spoke to the resident who explained he was evicting pigeons from his barn.
1:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported being defrauded after responding to an employment offer on “WhatsApp.” Complainant received training online and was paid about $150 but not compensated for about $10,000 for jobs requiring a pre-payment. Under investigation but a positive outcome is highly unlikely.
6:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – File opened to investigate a possible stolen Sea-Can.
9:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Members responded to a report of an assault. Investigation determined that one male was punched in the face by another. Suspect arrested and released on an Undertaking.
July 22
7:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 57 St – Complainant reported a break in that occurred at about 5 a.m. to a business. A male suspect broke in and stole tools, a laptop and a silver 2015 GMC pickup. Under investigation.
9:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Omniplex campground – Complainant reported a trailer and SUV abandoned overnight. Member attended and spoke to a male who said he would be either leaving or getting a campsite. Members have dealt with the male several times recently with this RV at different locations.
10:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male sleeping in an apartment vestibule. Member attended and removed the known male and told him not to return.
July 23
10:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male sleeping in an apartment vestibule. The male left without issue but was given a trespass ticket as he had been told not to return to the location when removed by police 24 hours earlier.
1:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50A St – Complainant reported the theft of a side-by-side that occurred on July 15. Suspects entered a business yard, hooked up to an enclosed trailer and tried to escape through a cut fence. When the trailer got stuck they removed the 2021 Ranger side-by-side from the trailer and escaped through a different spot. Under investigation.
2:11 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 62 St – Complainant reported a suspect entered a business yard by cutting a fence and stole scrap copper wire. Under investigation.
4:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a male had exposed himself in front of her, her mother and her son. Members attended a residence and arrested a 57-year-old male who was held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of indecent exposure and resisting arrest. The male was released the following day by a justice of the peace on conditions and with a future court date.
