The Drayton Valley Thunder has promoted Daryl Winter to the role of Director of Player Personnel, replacing the outgoing Scott Pimblott.
The organization says Winter has been integral in his role as head scout, showing a deep understanding of player talent and commitment to the team’s vision.
In his new role, Winter will oversee all aspects of player recruitment, scouting and development strategies for the team. Responsibilities will also include building and maintaining relationships with scouts, agents and junior hockey programs.
Head Coach and General Manager Jeff Truit says, “Daryl’s passion for the game, keen eye for talent, and tireless work ethic make him the ideal person to lead our player personnel department. This promotion reflects his significant contributions to our team and our confidence in his ability to shape the future success of the Thunder.”
Drayton Valley is Winter’s home town and he says he hopes to build a “championship-caliber roster” as he works with the organization.
The Thunder organization thanks Pimblott for his contributions and wishes him well in future endeavours.
