June 26
11:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a suspicious truck had been left in a hotel parking lot; a male had come in and told staff he had to go get oil, and the truck would be gone in an hour, but the male never returned. Member attended and determined the truck had been stolen in Edmonton, though the owner hadn’t yet been aware. A possible suspect was identified, though there wasn’t sufficient evidence to charge.
5:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported his Champion generator had been stolen around 8 a.m.; his son had seen a black car that was likely involved, but no plate number was provided and no video surveillance was available.
7:57 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 65 – Member attended a single vehicle rollover collision. The lone male occupant was transported to an Edmonton area hospital for treatment. The car was totalled and towed from the area; a dog that had apparently been in the car could not be located by police or bystanders.
June 27
9:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported parts stolen from under his truck, while parked in a hotel parking lot. Incident occurred over the past few days. Under investigation.
9:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a business computer system had been hacked and stored information stolen. Complainant will be notifying customers who may be affected.
5:00 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 502 – Member attended a property to assist with a dirtbike accident. Police assistance was not required, though the rider was transported to hospital.
June 28
9:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported finding a male sleeping in a building on an oilfield site. Member attended and spoke to the male who claimed he tried to harm himself in the nearby North Saskatchewan River, but then had second thoughts and found the building. Member transported the male to hospital for assessment and treatment of minor injuries.
3:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reported a female sitting in the ditch with a suitcase. Members attended and located the female who was uncooperative, tried to run away and then refused to identify herself. The female also claimed to be unable to talk, but was able to yell at police. Members arrested the female as she was under the influence of an intoxicating substance and returned her to cells. Once identified it was determined she had active warrants from two other jurisdictions; she was lodged in cells and held for a telephone bail hearing.
10:56 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 492 – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop with a pickup observed going around double the posted speed. The driver was sober and was “showing off to his friend.” The driver was issued tickets for speeding and stunting: total cost of showing off approximately $1,000.
June 29
01:04 a.m. – Brazeau County – Highway 620 – Police received an anonymous complaint of a white Dodge Ram with a blue fender driving all over the road, and doing donuts at Township 485, appeared intoxicated. Members located the vehicle and conducted mandatory alcohol screening. Driver failed both tests. Impaired driving sanctions issued to the driver.
04:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police were called to a break and enter to the Crown Vapour. Thieves drove a truck through the front door to break and stole a quantity of items. Investigation is continuing.
09:18 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 20 Avenue – Police were dispatched to a suspicious male at 7-Eleven. Members attended and found a known male in the bathroom. Members escorted the male out of the business.
10:13 a.m. – Brazeau County – Highway 22 – Police were dispatched to an assault at the Elevated Experience campground. Members attended and arrested a male for assault on a female. Male charged with assault and released on court conditions.
2:47 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Police called to an abandoned vehicle on the complainant’s property. Vehicle matched the description of one that fled from a traffic stop by Breton and Drayton Valley members earlier in the day. Vehicle seized and held for forensic processing.
3:36 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 71 – Police called to a stolen side by side that occurred within the last four hours. Members continue to investigate as this occurrence and the one above are believed to be related.
June 30
10:29 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 74A – Police called to damage at the Brazeau sports complex. Someone had cut locks and the fence. Members spoke with the complainant, no suspects currently.
10:53 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant called police to report they had a quad and two tidy tanks stolen from a lease site. Members investigating.
6:58 p.m. – Tomahawk – 50 Street – Police called to assist with a structure fire. Members attended, fire services determined blaze had started by a problem with the stove, it was not suspicious.
July 1
11:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Omniplex parking lot – Police were called to a report of a breach of an emergency protection order (EPO). Complainant’s ex-boyfriend was not to be within 100 metres of her and came within 10 in the parking lot. Members attended and arrested the male. Male held for judicial interim release for breaching his EPO.
5:10 p.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Police called to a theft of a motorcycle. Members continue to investigate.
July 2
06:14 a.m. – Police were dispatched to a complaint of uttering threats. Complainant reported that his brother had showed up at his place asking for gas, when he refused to give him gas, he threatened to stab the complainant. Charges laid against the brother for uttering threats.
09:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Police received a call from a female reporting that the complainant’s 10-year-old grandson had been left alone for two days and is hungry. Members attended and located the 10-year-old home alone with no food. Member took the kid for something to eat and called family and child services who came and picked up the boy.
14:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Police called to a collision at Drayton’s Pride Car Wash, a vehicle had driven into the building. Members attended, driver not impaired, collision paperwork completed.
3:14 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police were dispatched to a fraudulent use of bank card complaint. Complainant advised that she dropped her card the night before around 7-Eleven and someone found it and used it. Investigation is continuing.
3:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reported fraudulent transactions on her bank account. She advised that she has always had her card with her, but that there were two fraudulent withdrawals from her account. Investigation continuing.
July 3
6:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Call for theft of liquor received. Complaint from Zee Liquor called advising that a women tried to pay without showing her ID and when he refused to sell her the bottle, she just left with it. Members continue to investigate.
7:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police received a call for an unsafe load. Complainant reported a super duty truck was being hauled on a trailer meant for a small car. Members made patrols and located the vehicle and trailer. The truck was being unloaded. Members warned the driver about driving with an unsafe load.
8:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Police were dispatched to a sexual assault. Statements taken. The accused was located and arrested and held for a judicial interim release hearing.
9:38 p.m. – Brazeau County – township 494 – Police were called about some kids snooping around the complainant’s property. The complainant had detained the kids. Members attended, the kids advised they were looking to buy a vehicle. Members could smell cannabis in the vehicle, driver issued a 24-hour suspension.
