The Town of Drayton Valley and Brazeau County are improving financial support for regional youth pursuing post-secondary education through the new Tuition Assisted Bursary (TAB).
The partnership replaces and expands the Zero Fee Tuition Program that was previously in place.
The TAB program will accept applications from Brazeau County residents, introduces newly eligible programs and institutions and increases the number of bursary awards of up to $5,000, town officials report.
TAB has two streams:
- Primary Focus: Careers essential to the health, safety and well-being of communities across Brazeau County.
- Secondary Focus: Programs that enhance quality of life, drive economic growth and build a well-rounded, dynamic environment for everyone.
The Primary Focus supports roles in emergency services, healthcare careers, human services and apprenticeships and trade through bursaries up to $5,000.
The Secondary Focus supports roles in business, resource technology, parks and recreation, hospitality and tourism and continuing education through bursaries up to $2,500.
Students must be accepted into one of the certificate, diploma or degree programs offered by partner institutions before applying for TAB funding.
More information and application forms are available online.
