Drayton Valley residents looking to celebrate Canada Day have a few different events to choose from this year.
On July 1, the day will begin with an Air Cadet Pancake Breakfast at the Royal Canadian Legion (5204 51 Avenue). Breakfast will be held from 7-9:45 a.m. for $10 per person.
Next, you can grab a seat for the Drayton Valley Lions Club Parade, which will start to roam the streets at 10 a.m. The parade will line up on 44 Street, then turn left onto 50 Avenue. Then, it will turn north on 50 Street, to Industrial Road.
A host of activities will then be running at the Omniplex (5737 45 Avenue) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Following an opening ceremony, attendees can enjoy bouncy houses, carnival games, glitter tattoos, a photobooth, balloon artist and cotton candy.
Schuyler Snowdon will also put on a Snow Circus at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
The town notes, those with mobility concerns should access the elevator in the Pembina Pipeline Arena Lobby, or the barrier free access behind Omni One.
The day will wrap up with fireworks at dusk, sometime between 10:45-11:15 p.m., depending on fire ban status and weather conditions.
