June 5
10:02 a.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported a sexual assault that occurred at a residence about two weeks earlier. Under investigation.
11:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to charge a female who failed to appear in Court.
3:03 p.m. – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported a dog may have been poisoned. Under investigation.
4:33 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 44 St – Complainant reported items stolen from his truck while parked at his residence.
6:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Ring Road – Member conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle reportedly driving erratically. The male driver was arrested on a related file but released later without charges being laid. The driver was issued a 24-hour suspension due to suspected impairment by drugs and the rental car he was driving was towed. Rental company notified of the incident and were arranging to pickup the vehicle and terminate the contract.
6:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Area of the Dump – Member attended to assist paramedics with a male reportedly overdosing. The male was resuscitated and transported to hospital for treatment.
9:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a female ran out of a store with a shopping cart full of items. When the suspect saw the complainant taking photos she abandoned the cart and left in a white pickup. Under investigation, possible suspect identified.
10:33 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 85 – Complainant reported his house was broken into and a telescope stolen, suspects damaged his fence when leaving. Video surveillance showed an older white F350 flatdeck truck and a dual axle trailer leaving, but no plate was obtained.
June 6
2:56 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Complainant reported that culprits cut through a fence to gain access to a lease site, where they attempted to pull cables from the ground with little success.
4:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported two unwanted males in an apartment building. A town Peace Officer attended and removed the males.
7:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St/50 Ave – Members were advised by a town Peace Officer of a possible impaired driver who was now parked by 7/11. Members attended and determined that the driver had not consumed alcohol, but was likely impaired by drugs. A 24-hour driving suspension was issued. Observations of other offences lead to a search of the vehicle, during which a small quantity of drugs were seized for destruction. The driver was also issued two tickets.
11:58 p.m. – Brazeau County – City Service Bridge area – Complainant reported a trespasser on a lease site with an ATV. Members attended the area and conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle, but it did not appear they were involved. The ATV had since left the site, which suffered significant damage and theft. Under investigation.
June 7
12:28 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/RR 71 – Complainant reported she and her boyfriend were walking on the highway and needed a ride to town. Members attended and learned they were on foot as their vehicle broke down (which had already been towed due to it not being registered and sitting roadside), it was also determined that the complainant’s boyfriend was on 24-hour house arrest due to a prior release order. A 34-year-old Breton resident was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of breaching a release order and possession of identity documents. They were remanded in custody by a justice of the peace.
5:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his vehicle had been keyed, sometime in the past few days.
9:22 a.m. – Brazeau County – Violet Grove area – Complainant reported a truck and trailer on a lease site. Members attended and determined neither vehicle was stolen, and that the driver thought it was crown land. Members advised that it was not and that he needed to leave the area; the male complied.
2:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Area of the Dump – Complainant reported dogs off leash in the area and that people have been bit. Members attended and made inquiries but did not locate any matching animals or injuries. Peace Officers advised of the possible situation.
7:39 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that around 6 p.m. a neighbour of her mother’s had entered their backyard for unknown reasons, despite being told earlier by police to avoid contact. Under investigation.
8:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Members responded to a complaint from an off-duty officer. On arrival an intoxicated male was arrested and secured in a police vehicle. Investigation determined that the off-duty female officer had noticed a vehicle disturbance on the street where a truck was doing burnouts. The male was a passenger in the truck and assaulted the female officer while he was trying to take her phone away. Another male neighbour came out to assist and was more seriously assaulted by the suspect, who was taken to hospital for treatment. A 39-year-old male from Drayton Valley was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on charges of aggravated assault, assault, mischief and resisting arrest; he was remanded in custody by a justice of the peace. The driver of the truck was identified and issued a ticket for stunting, and a female acquaintance of the male was held in cells overnight to sober up and released on charges of obstruction and resisting a peace officer.
9:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/Hwy 22 – Member attended to assist firefighters with a fire in the wooded area NW of the intersection. Firefighters extinguished the fire but the occupant of the apparent encampment was not located. Member advised Drayton Valley Enforcement Services of the location as the camp will need to be removed.
10:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver sitting in a car near the back of the bar. Members attended and issued the driver a 24-hour suspension.
June 9
2:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported being victimized by a fraud. Complainant signed up for “X” and filled out a form that she thought was a new program from the Prime Minister. Complainant then sent $350 to the program before realizing it was a fraud. Member advised there was little that could be done but provided her with some suggestions on how to protect herself from future frauds.
6:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reported someone having a campfire on the west side of the Pembina River Bridge. Member attended and located the pair, who were unaware of the fire ban. The fire was extinguished without issue.
9:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members attended with EMS to a report of a female overdosing. The female was responsive and transported to hospital for treatment.
10:08 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 St – Complainant reported people having a fire. Member attended and found the people already extinguishing the fire after being told to do so by fire officials.
June 10
8:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported selling her car to two people who she believes are driving without insurance and still with her plates attached. Member advised the complainant to cancel the registration. Other members advised to watch for the vehicle.
11:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a domestic assault that occurred in late March. Under investigation, charges pending.
3:26 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported an acquaintance had posted a video online of another female committing several traffic offences. Member viewed the video and issued several tickets.
June 11
1:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Member attended a location to assist paramedics with a female overdosing. The female was transported to hospital for treatment.
7:40 a.m. – Brazeau County – Bear Lake area – Complainant reported someone stole a transformer from a power pole on a lease site. Occurred sometime overnight, under investigation.
12:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported someone broke into his house, stole his car keys and stole his car. Under investigation.
3:25 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Complainant reported trespassers had cut a fence on a rural property he owns and gone through on a dirt bike and ATV. Under investigation, may be related to other recent reports in the area.
3:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 St – Complainant reported being punched by another female. Member investigated and issued a ticket for fighting in public.
3:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported a neighbour had a fire going in a firepit during the fire ban. Member attended with a Brazeau County Peace Officer who issued a written warning. The fire was extinguished.
