An evacuation advisory for the Robb and Mercoal areas has been lifted as the fire is now being held, according to Alberta Emergency Alert.
It was cancelled around 8:30 a.m. Thursday and the fire was being held at 320 hectares as of 8 p.m. Wednesday night.
Yellowhead County officials explained the new classification means the fire is not expected to grow beyond its current boundaries given current weather conditions and resources available.
Meantime, residents in Peers remain under an evacuation advisory and should be prepared to leave on short notice.
