Jocelyn Whaley has been appointed as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Town of Drayton Valley.
With over two decades of municipal leadership experience, the town says Whaley brings a wealth of expertise in governance, fiscal management and stakeholder engagement to the role.
“On behalf of council, I am thrilled to welcome Jocelyn Whaley as our new CAO,” commented Mayor Nancy Dodds. “Over the past few months, we have seen firsthand the dedication and expertise she brings to our organization. Her leadership has already driven significant progress on economic development projects and education initiatives, and we are confident she will continue to build on this success.”
Whaley has held senior municipal roles across the west, including CAO, director of infrastructure services and strategic advisor. Most recently, she served as Drayton Valley’s general manager of planning and growth, where she strengthened the town’s tuition program to support local students.
“I am honoured to serve as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Drayton Valley. I look forward to continuing the important work ahead and look forward to collaborating with a committed team of professionals, engaging with our community and working closely with local businesses and stakeholders to build on the town’s continued growth and success,” Whaley said.
The town extends its gratitude to Pat Vincent for his dedication and leadership while serving as the interim CAO. Officials say his guidance was instrumental in ensuring a continuous and stable transition.
Whaley officially steps into the new role June 1.
