May 15
1:48 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported theft of wire and damage to a power transformer that occurred sometime in the past couple of days. Under investigation.
2:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a male driving, likely without insurance or registration. A location and direction of travel were provided, but members were unable to patrol for the truck at that time. The suspect and vehicle are familiar to police who will be watching for it when on patrol.
3:03 p.m. – Brazeau County – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a male overdosing. Paramedics were able to treat the male and transport him to hospital.
3:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that someone in a white car has been yelling rude things at him when driving by. The only descriptors were a white car and a possible partial plate number. Under investigation.
May 16
2:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a silver Cadillac driving in the middle of the road. The driver was observed to have cannabis within his reach and then produced a forged insurance document. Both driver and passenger were arrested and further search lead to the seizure of fentanyl and methamphetamine. The driver was issued tickets for no insurance and having cannabis within reach. The female passenger was charged with possession of meth and fentanyl. Both were released on scene with court appearances at a later date.
9:56 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant attended the detachment reporting she had been defrauded after investing money with a company called “All Real Group” located by an online ad. The complainant is out about $5,000. Under investigation.
11:47 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a domestic assault on the street across from her residence. Members attended and investigated and a male was subsequently arrested for assaulting his spouse as well as attempting to assault the complainant. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and released on conditions by a justice of the peace to appear in court at a later date.
6:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver and provided a vehicle description and license plate. Member located the vehicle parked and unoccupied near a hotel. At about 10:00 p.m. another member located the vehicle driving and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was issued a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand and provided two samples of her breath, both resulting in a “fail.” The driver was issued a 90-day provincial impaired driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days. The driver was also violation tickets as her registration was expired for more than two years and she could not provide valid insurance documents. A male acquaintance of the driver arrived on foot and was arrested as he was acting aggressively and told the member to release the driver. The male was held in cells overnight to sober up and released with a court date on charges of obstruction and causing a disturbance; those charges are pending approval by Crown.
8:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a shoplifter had stolen a bottle of liquor. Members attended and easily identified the male from the surveillance video. Members then located the male walking home; the male was arrested and the bottle recovered. He was issued an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. The male admitted to the theft, explaining that he had been hungry.
May 17
11:49 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported a neighbour was about to drive his uninsured truck. Under investigation, members are aware of the male and his truck.
1:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver, heading south on Hwy 22. Complainant reported that the driver couldn’t maintain his lane and almost went into oncoming traffic. Member patrolled but couldn’t locate the vehicle. Information was forwarded to both Breton and Rocky Mountain House RCMP.
1:40 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Complainant reported she had been assaulted by a male. Members attended and investigated; the male had left the scene but later turned himself in at the detachment. The male was released with a court date; charge pending approval of prosecutors.
4:16 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 N – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver heading north in a Toyota 4Runner. Patrols made but the vehicle wasn’t located. Information was also forwarded to Evansburg RCMP.
May 18
2:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Jubilee Ave – Members responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in a parking lot. On arrival an older model Toyota van was found in flames, luckily not near any buildings. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the van. Surveillance video indicated the fire was not arson, and the owners were at the location and explained they had just bought the van and had parked it earlier.
9:47 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver in a white truck. Members located the vehicle parked roadside with a male in the passenger’s seat. Members had seen the truck at that location for at least an hour while in the area on the previous call, so concluded that the report was false. Members towed the truck and issued a ticket, as it was found to be uninsured.
9:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that her boyfriend assaulted her and stole her truck. Members were already dealing with the truck and boyfriend on the previous file. Member found everyone to be uncooperative and experiencing difficulties being truthful. The complainant denied making the complaint and it appeared all were trying to get one another in trouble. Members unable to properly investigate the allegations of theft or assault.
May 19
10:19 a.m. – Hwy 22 – Traffic member on patrol in the area stopped a vehicle for speeding. A MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand was read and the driver provided a breath sample which resulted in a “caution.” The driver was issued a three-day provincial impaired driving suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
1:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Third party complaint that a female is being harassed and threatened by another family member over money from an estate. Under investigation.
8:48 p.m. – Brazeau County – Third party complaint of a domestic dispute ongoing. Members attended and investigated; the male was arrested for offences that had occurred on earlier dates. He was held in custody for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released by a justice of the peace for a court date next month.
May 20
5:16 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22 S – Members attended with other emergency services to a two-vehicle collision near the south end of town involving a pickup on its side in the ditch and an SUV. Investigation found that the incident allegedly started with road rage and one driver pursuing the other at high speed south on Hwy 22 from the area of 50 Ave. Firefighters extracted the injured female driver of the pickup truck, while the SUV driver, 55-year-old Kevin Hornle, of Drayton Valley, was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and aggravated Assault. Hornle was held for a telephone bail hearing and released on conditions by a justice of the peace to appear in court June 17, 2025.
8:17 a.m. – Brazeau County – ATV Trails/RR 91 – Complainant reported that while camping in the area his 2024 Can Am Outlander ATV was stolen. Incident occurred in the early hours of May 18. Under investigation.
10:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported weird activity at a neighbour’s residence, possibly drug related. Complainant reported that items appear in the yard but don’t stay long; this nefarious activity only happens at night. Under investigation.
1:37 p.m. – Brazeau County – Brazeau Dam – Complainant reported leaving his truck and boat trailer at the dam on May 17 to go camping up the river, and when he returned on May 20 the truck and trailer were gone. The boat trailer was subsequently recovered but the 2005 grey Ford F250 is outstanding. Under investigation.
3:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – McDonald’s – Complainant attended the detachment to report a collision caused by sneezing. Complainant’s vehicle was parked when a driver had a sneezing attack and hit the complainant’s car. Damage is over $7,000.
5:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported that while at an apartment building she observed a male being abusive toward his dog. Under investigation.
May 21
2:36 a.m. – Brazeau County – Member attended a residence to conduct a curfew check and found that the male was not home, nor was he at his neighbours’. Member eventually reached the male by phone and he then returned on foot, claiming he had chased off a skunk. Member felt that something didn’t smell right; information forwarded to probation to consider if a breach of his Conditional Sentence Order is warranted.
7:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/61 St – Complainant reported a fire in the bush across from McDonald’s. Member attended with firefighters but found that significant rain had extinguished the fire. No one present at the location at that time.
8:41 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that while his truck was parked on a lease site tools were stolen and containers broken. The complainant reported about $4,000 worth of tools missing.
11:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to add a warrant for a male who failed to comply with his probation.
12:12 p.m. – Drayton Valley – File opened to enter a warrant for Probation for a male who failed to comply with his conditions
2:29 p.m. – Violet Grove area – Complainant reported an SUV stolen from his property, sometime in the past month. Member determined that the SUV had been impounded on a related file and a male had been charged for several offences, but not for theft as the SUV hadn’t been reported stolen and hadn’t yet been registered by the complainant. Under investigation, additional charges being considered.
9:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Members responded to a 911 call from a residence. Investigation resulted in a female being arrested for assault. She was held for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released by a justice of the peace with conditions and a court date.
