A new piece of public artwork was unveiled in Drayton Valley on Monday, April 28.
The Canada Connects Fun & Family mural is displayed on an exterior wall of the Drayton Valley Omniplex and is made up of thousands of tiles, painted by local artists and artists worldwide, that depict a large leafy tree on a rocky cliff with some curious wildlife.
Town officials say this initiative was undertaken with support from:
- The Drayton Valley Hospitality and Tourism Authority.
- The Drayton Valley Fine Arts Society.
- The Murual Mosaic’s Global Roots Project.
Town officials would also like to thank all the artists who contributed to the mural, including Lewis Lavoie, the Canadian artist behind the Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project. This initiative aims to bring communities together through murals that symbolize unity and connection.
More information can be found on the Mural Mosaic’s Global Roots Project website.
