9:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment to report a domestic assault that occurred earlier in the day. Investigation lead to a male being arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on assault charges. The male was subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in court at a later date.
3:53 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported her grandson missing, likely with his girlfriend in the city. A file is already open for the girlfriend and Edmonton Police are assisting.
6:21 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reported his fathers’ truck, that had been left near Highway 621 for a couple of days, was missing. Member investigated and was able to confirm that two males were seen loading the truck onto a trailer, but no further details were available. The stolen truck is a 2008 white Silverado, bearing AB plate BNX3034.
April 11
4:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious male, possibly intoxicated, had approached her kids while they were in the yard, and then picked up a pallet in the lane. Members patrolled the area but did not locate the male, though he is believed to be the same person dealt with on the subsequent report.
8:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported a suspicious male walking through her yard, falling over, possibly stealing. Member located the male walking nearby and arrested him due to significant intoxication. The male was taken to hospital to be cleared prior to incarceration, after which he was held in cells to sober up from suspected drugs and alcohol.
April 12
1:17 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a male who had already been trespassed from a store, had come in the previous evening and shoplifted various items. Under investigation, charges likely.
April 13
6:02 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that family had located two youth reported missing were at a hotel. Prior to members arriving the two youth had fled on foot. Related to previously reported files, both later located and with family.
7:10 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a break and enter to a motel room, suspects that an evicted tenant is responsible. Member attended, unable to prove responsibility, though the male suspect had previously reported having personal property stranded in the room.
11:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two missing youth were back at a hotel that they had fled from earlier in the morning. Member attended and spoke to both who declined assistance and were put in touch with family.
April 14
9:33 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her disabled window hanger missing, likely stolen from her vehicle.
10:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended to report a fraud after receiving a cheque for services that was significantly larger than expected. The complainant did some investigation on his own and determined it was a fraud, saving him from any loss of money. This is a common scam where a cheque is sent and later found to be a fake; after victims have either provided a product or sent the difference as a refund.
3:44 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Members were advised that a vehicle had failed to stop for a Parkland County Peace Officer who had attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Member located the truck and was able to conduct a stop in a parking lot. Member determined that the driver was wanted on a Canada-wide immigration warrant. The 40-year-old male from Mexico was arrested and later transferred into the custody of CBSA.
April 15
9:20 p.m. – Poplar Ridge area – Complainant reported that video surveillance had captured a male climb a fence and enter a yard with stored oilfield equipment. Members attended but did not locate the male, who the complainant believed may have left on foot headed north.
April 16
2:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a terminated employee took multiple items from a kitchen after being fired. Under investigation.
2:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported ongoing harassment and bullying of one youth by another youth. Under investigation.
