Evansburg RCMP are investigating the death of a 14-day-old infant following an incident at a residence near Entwistle.
On Sunday, Feb, 16, police say they were called to assist Alberta Health Services Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at a residence near Entwistle, where a dog had bitten a 14-day-old infant, resulting in serious life-threatening injuries.
RCMP officers assisted with the landing of STARS, who transported the infant to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Mounties say the infant has been declared deceased.
Police say the dog has been surrendered to the authorities and the investigation is ongoing.
