Evansburg RCMP would like to update that at this time, the collisions are cleared and the highway east and west bound are back to normal flow.
Evansburg RCMP are still investigating several collisions between Evansburg and Gainford, where icy road conditions contributed to a semi truck jack-knifing, another semi sliding off the road, and multiple cars and SUV’s sliding into the ditch.
Currently, Mounties say there are no reported injuries, however roads remain icy and drivers are asked to slow down and provide plenty of space between vehicles.

Evansburg RCMP have been responding to multiple traffic collisions on Thursday, involving at least one semi truck and several vehicles sliding into the ditches along the area of Highway 16 and through to the east side of Gainford, Alta.
Mounties say the highway is very icy and currently both the east and westbound lanes are backed up with only one westbound lane available for traffic flow.
Evansburg RCMP are asking for patience from drivers as they work to clear the roads, and ask that if you can avoid the area, please do. Police are asking drivers to slow down while traveling these icy roads.
