9:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a possible incident of Voyeurism. Under investigation.
11:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Cynthia area – Complainant reported a trailer with a generator set mounted inside were stolen from a remote worksite. Occurred between Jan. 3 and 6. Under investigation.
January 17
12:36 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Third-party complaint received regarding possible sexual offences against several children by a relative. Under investigation.
January 18
11:28 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that while he was out of town someone broke into his gun safe and stole handguns and long guns. Under investigation.
5:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – area of the dump – Member on patrol checked a suspicious truck and found that the driver was suspended and the truck had no valid registration or insurance. Multiple tickets were issued requiring attendance in court and the truck was impounded.
January 19
1:11 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 St – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop and read the driver a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand. The driver provided a breath sample which resulted in a “fail.” The driver declined a second test. The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and her vehicle was impounded.
11:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported her daughter had been bitten by a dog. Member attended and spoke to the complainant and daughter at the hospital, daughter was treated for minor bite wounds. The owner and dog are known to police and the information was forwarded to Drayton Valley Enforcement Services for further investigation.
5:39 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Several complaints were received regarding a pickup driving toward Drayton Valley that was having difficulty maintaining the lane. Member located the truck near the north entrance to town and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was not impaired by alcohol but couldn’t explain why he was having difficulty driving properly, stating he was trying to find his hotel. Member told the male to drive to the hotel and park for the day, but while following behind more driving concerns were noted. Member stopped the truck again and issued the driver a 24-hour-suspension and a traffic ticket. The truck was picked up by the registered owner.
January 20
8:15 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a suspicious male had been in the ATM lobby the past two days yelling at his phone and saying someone was going to kill him. Member attended and patrolled the area but the male was not located.
3:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported a possible sighting of a dog that had bit a child the day before (see Jan. 19 at 11:26 am). Member aware that the town had issued a ticket to the owner, but the dog was to be quarantined. Patrols of the area were made by members and Town Peace Officers but the dog wasn’t located.
January 21
12:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St/52 Ave – Complainant reported an employee was crossing the street when he was struck by a passing vehicle, knocking the employee down. The vehicle did not stop, but a plate was obtained. Member identified and spoke to the driver who stated she did not hit anyone. Under investigation.
January 22
6:19 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his 2005 GM pickup stolen from his hotel parking lot sometime overnight. Later in the day the truck was recovered and three suspects were arrested by members of the Central Alberta Crime Reduction Unit with assistance from Thorsby and Rimbey RCMP. 35-year-old Derek Lavoie, 30-year-old Morgan Hansen and 38-year-old Kristy Knapp were held for telephone bail hearings and all were remanded in custody by a Justice of the Peace.
12:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that while sitting in a fast food restaurant with a friend she noticed an older male was recording them, and also had been touching himself through a hole in his pants. Under investigation, awaiting surveillance video.
3:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male had entered a store and shoplifted about an hour earlier. Under investigation.
9:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop and found that the driver had no license. Member subsequently determined that the driver was also breaching several prior release conditions. 24-year-old Trey Raine, of Rocky Mountain House was arrested and charged with five-counts of failing to comply with a Release Order. Raine was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in court at a later date.
10:20 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 494 – Member on patrol stopped a truck due to the registration being expired. A MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand was read and the driver provided two breath samples, both resulting in a “caution” reading. As a result, the driver was issued a three-day suspension and his truck was impounded.
10:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a leashed bulldog bit him while he was walking, the unidentified owner apologized. Member met with the complainant and was able to determine that this was not the same dog that recently bit a child. Unable to identify the dog or the owner.
