December 19
3:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported his black 2004 Chevy pickup stolen from a hotel parking lot sometime after 4:30 a.m. Under investigation.
8:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 491 – Complainant reported a dark truck came onto his property and stole an enclosed cargo trailer with a golf cart inside. Under investigation.
December 20
11:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that a tenant had threatened her and was showing signs of mental health decline. Members attended (third time in 24 hours) and apprehended the female under the Mental Health Act. She was subsequently transported to a designated mental health facility for treatment.
5:24 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported an erratic driver headed north, last seen turning onto Township Road 502. Members located the car in the ditch. The driver provided two breath samples, both resulting in “Fail” readings. The driver was issued a provincial impaired driving suspension and the car was towed. Further actions by the male lead to him spending the night in cells and being charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and offering a bribe. The male was released when sober with a court date.
6:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that a 21-year-old male had allegedly been providing cannabis to youth. All parents spoken to, under investigation.
6:59 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a female who had been banned from a store was back and causing a ruckus. Members attended and the female was located on an adjacent property where she was arrested for being under the influence of suspected drugs. 58-year-old Louise Arhtur was charged with possession of drugs, mischief, theft and trespassing. Arhtur was held for a telephone bail hearing and released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in court at a later date.
December 21
1:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/50 St – Member on patrol located a truck driving erratically. Member conducted a traffic stop and issued a 24-hour suspension due to suspected impairment by drugs.
2:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members attended the bar to conduct a bar walk and encountered a fight in progress. One male was arrested and held in cells overnight to sober up. Another male resisted arrested and ended up in cells with charges of assault, resisting arrest and mischief after it took members and a staff member to apprehend him. The second male was released to appear in court at a later date.
8:48 a.m. – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported a break and enter to a residence they had purchased a few weeks earlier. The complainant suspects that the son of the former owner attended to pickup personal items even though he had been specifically told to make an appointment. Members attended and confirmed the male wasn’t at the location and that there was no new damage or unwanted items left behind. The complainant will be making some security upgrades, no charges.
3:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported neighbours yelling at him while he was out shoveling, reports ongoing issues with one of the neighbours. Members attended and determined the complainant had been harassing one of the neighbours for some time. The complainant was arrested and subsequently released with conditions and a future court date.
5:18 p.m. – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported a trespasser on property they recently purchased (see report at 8:48 a.m.). Members attended and located a male who was arrested and initially held for a potential bail hearing as he is on previous conditions that are complicated by the recent sale of the property. Members subsequently arranged for the male to stay elsewhere and to follow-up with his probation officer the following week in order to arrange for a different approved residence.
7:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver stuck in the ditch near MacDonald’s. Member attended and located the driver who was issued a MAS (mandatory alcohol screening) demand, which he failed to comply with. A provincial impaired driving prohibition was issued and the truck was impounded once removed from the ditch.
10:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported her ex had threatened her. Members attended and arrested the male after it was found he had outstanding warrants and was breaching prior conditions. The male was held for a telephone bail hearing and remanded in custody. No charges laid on the initial threat’s complaint.
11:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a truck stunting near the intersection. The driver provided two breath samples, both results were “caution” which lead to the driver being issued a three-day provincial impaired driving suspension and the truck being impounded. Further investigation lead to a small quantity of drugs, ammunition and a shotgun being located. The male was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on charges related to drug possession, weapons offences and breaches. He was subsequently remanded in custody by a Justice of the Peace. A female passenger was also arrested and released when sober with a court date on drug possession charges.
December 22
12:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant located a male in an alley, possibly deceased. Members attended with paramedics who confirmed the male was deceased. Death not suspicious, though likely involved drug use. Medical examiner investigating further and next of kin notification completed.
8:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported that sometime over the past two days his silver 2005 Chevy was stolen from his place of work. Under investigation.
December 23
8:18 a.m. – Brazeau County – Bear Lake area – Complainant reported his recreational property broken into, sometime over the past week. Under investigation.
9:41 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 92 – Complainant reported a break and enter to a rural property that occurred the day before. Unsure what is missing, under investigation.
3:44 p.m. – Parkland County – Burtonsville area – Complainant reported a seasonal residence broken into over the past week and a half. Under investigation.
December24
12:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to two reports of a male being assaulted by two other males. On arrival it was determined that one male was assaulted and robbed. Two males were arrested and held for telephone bail hearings, though one was subsequently released at the hospital on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date, after it was determined he had injured his hand during the melee. All parties know each other and impairment was a factor. Charges pending.
6:08 a.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 491 – Complainant reported that his property was broken into at about 1:00 a.m. The complainant was not on the property and alerted by video surveillance of the event. Member attended along with an FIS (Forensic Identification Service) member. Complainant still determining what may have been taken. Under investigation.
11:32 a.m. – Violet Grove – Complainant reported that gas appeared to have been stolen from his vehicle sometime overnight.
5:38 p.m. – Drayton Valley – A taxi driver attended the detachment to report two suspects stole two bottles of alcohol when they left his taxi. The alcohol had been purchased earlier for personal use and had been in the back of the vehicle. Member located the two and recovered one bottle unopened, but found the Bailey’s had already been sampled. The female suspect claimed it was all a mistake, and offered to replace it. To ensure this happened, the member drove her to one of the many liquor outlets in town and confirmed the purchase, after which both bottles were returned to the complainant.
8:58 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant reported two vehicles were at a site where he has a mulcher stored, trying to load it onto a semi. Members attended and arrested two males and a female, who were all returned to cells and eventually released to appear in court at later dates. One male was issued a 24-hour driving suspension due to suspected impairment by drugs and both the semi and a pickup truck were towed from the scene. Multiple violation tickets were also issued to all three suspects.
December 25
3:56 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported a male loitering and possibly shoplifting in a store. Member attended and met the male outside. Member determined the male was under the influence of an intoxicating substance. The male was issued a ticket for public intoxication and a trespass notice at the complainant’s request. The male was then transported to another location at his request.
