An Edmonton man has been arrested and charged in connection to an alleged shooting at the Brazeau Dam in early November.
Police say just after midnight on Nov. 9, they received a report of possible gunshots at the Brazeau County Dam. Upon arrival, Mounties say they discovered a female victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital where she remains in critical but stable condition.
Police say the male suspect was arrested on scene without incident. Investigators have charged 43-year-old Leomer Serios Valencia, a resident of Edmonton, with:
- Attempted murder
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offense
- Three counts of pointing a firearm
- Assault
- Four counts of uttering threats
Valencia was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody with a court date set for Nov. 18, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Drayton Valley.
