October 17
9:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Members responded to a 911 call from a female stating she didn’t feel safe. Though the female had hung-up, members located her by her phone number and prior calls. The female stated she was in a psychosis. The attending members and her boyfriend convinced her to attend the hospital voluntarily.
10:59 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Staff reported that the above female had left the hospital and was arguing and being aggressive. Members located the female and her boyfriend a block or two away. Both were transported back to the hospital.
1:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Members called to the hospital after a handgun was located in a patient’s purse while staff were looking for ID. Members seized the Derringer style pistol, file under investigation.
2:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Ave – Complainant reported ongoing issues with people speeding in the school zone by the Powerhouse Campus. Information shared with members and town peace officers.
7:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two suspicious males in the area of Scotiabank swinging a golf club. The pair were on foot and heading south. The complainant saw them on two different occasions and a friend had seen them the day prior. Member patrolled the area but didn’t locate anyone with a golf club.
October 18
10:43 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported an altercation with a neighbour after he kicked one of her pit bulls that was loose and barking and snarling at him and his wife. The dog’s owner corralled the dogs and subsequently spat on him when he entered the building. Reporting for information only.
1:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 St – Complainant reported someone tried unsuccessfully to break into a cargo trailer stored in a business yard. Complainant has moved the trailer to a more secure location.
5:09 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/45 Ave – Members attended a pedestrian vs F350 collision at the intersection of 50 Street and 45 Avenue. An elderly male was struck and received serious leg injuries and was transported to hospital. Driver was cooperative and remained at the scene. Under investigation.
5:26 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a catalytic converter stolen from his truck while stored in a business yard.
11:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported that a female was behind a building, harassing a resident. Ongoing issues with the female who has been previously warned and dealt with in the area, even though the victim does not appear to know her. Member located and arrested the female who was held in cells to sober up and then released to appear in court with appropriate conditions.
October 19
12:09 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members were called to assist paramedics with a bystander knocked out while two males were involved in a fight. On arrival members were able to speak to one of the males who claimed the other was instigating. Female taken to hospital to be checked out. Under investigation with charges likely against one male based on available video surveillance.
8:46 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that his alarm had gone off in a hotel lot overnight and at the time he checked and didn’t see anything suspicious. In the morning he noticed damage to his front wheel panel. Under investigation.
12:57 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported diesel stolen from equipment overnight on a lease site.
9:22 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR85 north of Hwy 620 – Complainant reported a shooting near her residence and that her cat was found with bullet wounds and was being taken to the Vet. Members attended but did not locate any suspects or evidence in the area. Unfortunately, the cat had to be euthanized. Under investigation.
October 20
12:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Members attended a residence with paramedics after a report that a male had been hit on the head with a baseball bat. Members attended and determined the assault happened the night before and was reported by a friend who was concerned for the male’s wellbeing. The victim declined to be treated and refused to state what had occurred or who may have assaulted him.
12:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported a male refusing to leave the bar and bothering his ex-girlfriend. Members located the male with a bloody hand that was caused by a bouncer closing a door after he tried to get back in the bar multiple times. Members provided the male with a cell for the night, which has a much more secure door mechanism.
3:58 a.m. – Parkland County – Berrymoor Bridge area – Complainant reported a male seen trespassing on a lease site. Member spoke to the complainant who had already attended and determined the male had left. Several small items missing.
5:57 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 57 Ave – Complainant reported seeing a suspicious white SUV when he arrived for work. The SUV then drove up as if it wanted to enter, the complainant spoke to two occupants who were belligerent and threatening. The suspects then proceeded to follow the complainant, almost rear ending him. Under investigation.
8:25 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a male acquaintance had left her motel room with some of her belongings. The complainant just wants her stuff back. Under investigation.
5:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported a male in a black Challenger was revving the car and ripping around in a hotel parking lot. Members attended; investigation resulted in the male driver being charged criminally for Impaired Operation and also for Driving While Suspended. This is the third time this year that the driver has been sanctioned for impaired driving, which is why the matter was dealt with through criminal charges and not provincial sanctions. Court pending.
October 21
12:29 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR85 – Complainant reported that a former friend was threatening him over Facebook and text messages. Member attended the residence and spoke to the complainant who was unable to produce any messages with a criminal threat involved. The complainant was upset that police wouldn’t charge without evidence.
12:47 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR85 – Complainant reported damage to his girlfriend’s vehicle, fuel missing and the license plate stolen. Member attended and found no pry marks as reported and determined that the plate was already reported. Complainant had a suspect in mind but no evidence to support the allegations. The suspect just happened to be the complainant in the previous file. All known to police.
10:05 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported sending money to a contractor in Red Deer to install air conditioning and the work was never done. The contractor is avoiding contact and not returning any money. Member forwarded the investigation to a provincial unit as it better fits their mandate.
1:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported his wallet was stolen while he was visiting a friend, and fraudulent transactions were made. Member was unable to determine where the transactions were made and another male returned the wallet.
2:34 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported culprits entered two different lease sites and stole the sight glasses.
2:41 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported wire stolen from a lease site.
2:48 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported cable stolen from catadyne heaters on a lease site.
4:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a trailer hitch stolen off her truck while shopping. Member checked the adjacent businesses for surveillance video but nothing was found.
9:13 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Members attended to a report of a large truck in the ditch. No indications of the driver being impaired, no major damage. Members assisted with traffic control while it was removed.
October 22
11:33 a.m. – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported two fraudulent e-transfers worth about $1800 made from her account. Under investigation.
2:25 p.m. – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported a friend had sent him some photos alleging she was the victim of domestic abuse. Member spoke to the complainant and encouraged him to direct her to police, as there was already an open file and the potential victim is not cooperating with police and a definitive address is not known for her.
4:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 51 Ave – Complainant reported a male had entered a vehicle and was seen going through it. Member attended the area and located and arrested 29-year-old Edward Potts for Mischief and Breach of Probation. Potts was held for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace for a future court date.
October 23
3:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Complainant reported that the previous night a truck had driven aggressively toward her in the parking lot, making her think she would be hit. File open to speak to the driver.
October 24
3:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a break and enter to a business. Members attended and determined the culprits had been in the business three times, not just once. Under investigation, video surveillance provided.
