June 6
11:34 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported oil and antifreeze stolen from a lease site.
3:12 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 503 – Complainant reported his ex driving by his residence. Members responded to the area and located the suspect’s vehicle on Highway 621. A traffic stop was conducted and the female was arrested on an outstanding warrant and held for a telephone bail hearing. Multiple tickets were also issued due to no insurance/registration on the vehicle and the driver having no current drivers license.
4:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Hospital – Member attended the hospital to assist staff with a nonagenarian (90-99 years of age) female refusing to exit the elevator and setting off alarms. Member assisted in getting the female into a wheelchair and out of the elevator.
10:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Madsen Ave – Complainant reported a loud party in a nearby yard. Member attended and found a supervised grad party ongoing with about a dozen youth. The host/supervisor was advised of the complaint and agreed to keep the noise down.
June 7
9:34 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 621 – Complainant reported about a dozen cows loose on the highway. Member located the owner who got the cows back into pasture and advised a realtor had mistakenly left a gate open. Member located and destroyed abandoned plans titled “how to jump over the moon.”
10:37 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported possible vandalism to his vehicle as his mechanic suspected someone had put sugar in his tank. Complainant unable to determine a time or location when this might have occurred.
10:21 p.m. – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids area – Complainant reported suspicious activity, possibly drug related at a neighbour’s residence.
11:04 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported hearing fireworks near his residence. Member contacted the complainant and advised it was a planned/permitted event related to the Holy Trinity Academy graduation.
June 8
3:52 a.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a trespasser on a lease site, the suspect was seen on video surveillance enter a building. Members attended but the suspect had left, complainant did not believe anything was stolen.
5:03 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a male in an apartment parking lot, possibly trying to break into vehicles. The complainant then heard glass breaking. Member attended and learned glass had been broken in a door. Member located a suspect nearby who was arrested for Mischief. The suspect was held in custody to sober up and then released to appear in court at a later date.
11:07 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male who appeared to be on drugs punching the air inside a store. Other patrons were avoiding shopping in the same aisles. Member attended and located the known male who paid for his items and left. A Trespass Notice was issued to the male.
11:30 a.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported her dog missing and possibly stolen. Member spoke to the complainant and advised police could do little to investigate and suggested she contact local shelters.
5:20 p.m. – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported a break in to a lease site that had occurred over the past day or two. No information provided on loss or damage.
5:45 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a security camera stolen from a lease site.
June 9
8:13 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Ave – Member on patrol located a male passed out behind the wheel of a running truck. Member observed evidence of drug use and a search of the vehicle found a small quantity of illicit drugs. Member issued a 24-hour driving suspension.
10:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two white company trucks had been speeding on 50 Street and passed him on the right at a crosswalk when he had stopped for a pedestrian. The complainant stated the drivers of the trucks had to jam on the brakes to not hit the pedestrians. Member spoke to all parties and determined the suspect vehicles had passed in a legal lane and that the complainant had stopped at a green light for the pedestrians. All involved were warned about driving behaviour.
11:27 p.m. -Drayton Valley – Hospital – Members assistance was requested by staff who were dealing with a combative septuagenarian (70-79 years of age) trying to attack staff with cuticle plyers. Members provided the needed assistance.
11:37 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported being assaulted by her boyfriend while they were camping. Members investigated and subsequently arrested a male who was held for a telephone bail hearing on several charges. The male was released on conditions by a Justice of the Peace.
June 10
2:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that a female tried to deposit a suspected counterfeit $5.00 bill at a bank. Member investigated and found no criminal intent, the bill had come from a local business who could not say where and when they obtained it. The $5.00 bill was sent to the Counterfeit Bureau for analysis.
3:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported that a female who had previously shoplifted from a store was back browsing. Member attended and located the female who was issued a Trespass Notice by staff and then escorted out.
4:19 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 39 – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver heading toward Drayton Valley. Members located the vehicle and determined the driver was sober, just a bad driver. The driver was issued a ticket for failing to maintain his lane.
5:28 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a company truck driving south near Township Road 512 and passing on a double solid line. Member located the truck as it returned to the business, where the driver was warned about his behaviour in front of several co-workers for additional shaming.
June 11
9:11 a.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported suspects tried to rip cables from the ground causing damage at a lease site. Under investigation.
June 12
12:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two guests checked in to a hotel at about 3:00 a.m., and after they had checked out a call was received from a victim advising that his card had been stolen and used to book the room. Two suspects have been identified and charges are likely to result.
1:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported ongoing harassment of her daughter due to past incidents. Under investigation.
5:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that a “Mexican man in a grey minivan tried to run him down and was trying to fight him for his food.” The suspect then left to work in a nearby restaurant. Member investigated and determined that the complainant encountered a male near the Legion who told him to stop taking food. Member does not believe anyone tried to hit the complainant with a vehicle. For context, the complainant has been involved in more than 40 calls for service in 2024.
