September 28
10:38 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported a theft that occurred overnight from a delivery truck. Under investigation.
September 29
9:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Shelter Pods – Complainant requested assistance with a female not vacating the pods. Female reportedly getting high in a wheelchair. Member attended and ensured the female left.
10:29 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Complainant reported that overnight someone broke into his garage and stole a rifle from his truck. Under investigation.
3:37 p.m. – Parkland County – Twp Rd 514 – Complainant reported to Parkland RCMP that his truck was missing from a property near Tomahawk.
8:39 p.m. – Yellowhead County – Call received from security company reporting two unknown people caught via surveillance on a remote lease site. Complainant called back to advise the vehicle had been a couple of youth who had since left.
September 30
11:39 a.m. – Parkland County – Twp Rd 514 – Complainant reported that at about 2 am, two vehicles pulled into his driveway; one truck backed out and the other was backed into a pullout. The second truck was still in the pullout at the time of call. Member attended and located a white Ford with a rear tire destroyed. Checks of the truck confirmed it had been stolen from Onoway on Sept. 24. The truck was towed and the mismatched plate seized. Owner notified of the truck’s recovery.
12:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported the door glass at a business had been kicked in overnight. Under investigation.
7:51 p.m. – Parkland County – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported a truck abandoned in a field, had been there at least a day. Member attended and recovered the truck reported stolen from Twp Rd 514 the previous afternoon. Under investigation.
9:38 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reported three male youths running back and forth across the highway into traffic. Complainant was able to provide directions to a nearby residence. Member attended and spoke to the parents of the boys involved and suggested a family viewing of Looney Tunes episodes where Wile E Coyote is flattened.
11:34 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported losing his wallet at the bar. Under investigation.
October 1
12:15 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported that an older male had hit a pole near Independent Grocers. Members attended and determined the male was sober and uninjured, but requested paramedics due to a suspected medical episode. The car was towed from the scene.
1:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her ex husband was contacting her repeatedly. Member spoke to both parties; insufficient grounds to charge but an Emergency Protection Order was obtained and served.
8:55 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Independent parking lot – Complainant reported an unknown person hitting cars with a flashlight; when told to leave the suspect headed down the alley behind the Derrick Lounge. Member patrolled the area and was flagged down by a nearby business owner who reported a female had just smashed windows in her business. Members located and arrested 30-year-old Ajai Schmidt and held her for a telephone bail hearing on charges of mischief and failing to comply with probation. Schmidt had been released less than two hours earlier on a prior release order after being held for hearing due to uttering threats. This time Schmidt was remanded in custody.
October 2
9:28 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Investigation opened after a report that a male in his 40’s was sending multiple messages to a teenage girl. Under investigation.
2:19 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant attended the detachment to report being assaulted at the bar on the evening of Sept. 30. An unknown female had assaulted him near the entrance and then struck him with a pool queue. Under investigation, video surveillance available.
10:28 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported that while parked in the truck parking lot, someone cut the lock off their trailer in an attempt to steal a motorcycle. Suspects then fled in a newer black F350 with a tidy tank in the back. Members patrolled extensively but were unable to locate a matching vehicle.
October 3
8:57 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 624 – Complainant reported a paraglider over her property that seems to be hazing animals. Complainant is concerned this will affect hunting. Member advised there is paragliding business in the area and police had little control over flight patterns.
9:32 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Member on patrol located a male with a warrant from Edmonton. As per wishes of Edmonton Police he was released to appear in court at a later date.
2:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Police received a driving complaint of pickup truck racing in the Omniplex parking lot. Members patrolled the area, located one of the vehicles matching the description. Driver spoken to, who denied having any involvement. All drivers parked in area advised to drive responsibly.
3:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Police received a report that a video of a naked male youth was being shown around Frank Maddock High School. School resource officer confirmed the rumor and confronted the female youth who had the video. Video had already been deleted. Youth warned about possessing and sharing child pornography.
3:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Police called to a male trying to climb into the box of a complainant’s truck. Members attended and located a highly intoxicated male. Male arrested for public intoxication and provided a safe place to warm up.
4:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Police received a report from a Frank Maddock High School student that they were threatened with a knife by another student. School resource officer investigated. Investigation revealed that the knife threat was a lie. Student spoken with about reporting false offences to the police and the importance of telling the truth.
4:48 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – Police received a report of a found young boy wandering near the daycare in only socks. Boy was taken to the daycare by the complainant, but was not a student there. Members attended at the same time as a mother in distress. Boy had wandered out the door while his mother was cleaning. They were reunited.
6:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 45 Avenue – Police were dispatched to a complaint of an impaired driver at the Omniplex parking lot. The male driver was seen drinking liquor as well as taking multiple hits from his bong. Members attended and located the male who was now in the school gym. Male showing obvious signs of intoxication. He was given a 24-hour driving suspension and his mother was called to come pick him up.
7:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Police received a report of an assault at St. Anthony’s playground. Members attended and interviewed the witness. Investigation continuing.
October 4
09:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Police received a report of a utility trailer stolen overnight. Investigation is continuing.
12:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Male reported he was assaulted by an unknown male after a road rage incident. Members investigating.
2:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Break and Enter reported at the coach motel. Break in was done on video and members could easily identify the suspect. Members located and charged the male with break and enter.
