August 31
10:51 a.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported a breach of an EPO and that the suspect drove at him in a dangerous manner on an ATV. Member investigated and a male was later arrested and charged.
3:49 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant requested assisting in serving an eviction notice. Member agreed to be in the vicinity should anything go wrong, but would otherwise remain uninvolved. The complainant attended and the tenants were apparently not home. A second visit was made later and police did attend the property, at which time it was clear the tenants were home but not answering the door. The complainant was advised to seek direction on how to proceed from the tenancy branch.
5:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A St – Complainant reported unwanted people in bushes in an empty lot by the bottle depot. Member attended and located a male and female who were told to leave the area and that it wasn’t a suitable site to camp.
September 1
6:49 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported he was following one of his company’s gravel trucks north on Hwy 22 and that the truck was stolen. Complainant provided an update; truck wasn’t stolen and was being driven by an employee.
6:51 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 – Police were called for single vehicle roll over north of Hwy 624. Members attended, vehicle had gone off the road and rolled numerous times. Both the driver and passenger had been ejected and were deceased at the scene. Collision analyst attended. Investigation is continuing; speed and a lack of seat belt use are believed to have been factors.
8:54 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Police called to assist with an intoxicated hotel guest. Complainant advised the male started yelling in his room about baseball bats to the head and is now walking around talking to himself and eating the hand sanitizer in the lobby. Members attended and located the male who is known to police. Male arrested for public intoxication and provided a place to sleep while he sobered up. Police did not offer hand sanitizer as a lunch option.
4:59 p.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Police called to assist fire with a structure fire. Members attended, fire was already out and they were just dealing with smoke. Fire started by a kitchen appliance.
September 2
2:52 p.m. – Brazeau County – 64 St – Complainant reported 2 trucks and a Side by Side were stolen from a company yard. Complainant unsure when the theft occurred. Under investigation. Update; one truck was recovered September 6 by Breton RCMP and two males were arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing.
3:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Police received a 4th party complaint of an assault with a weapon; a male was allegedly holding a knife to his girlfriend’s throat. Members attended and made entry into the room, a witness told members they were too late, the couple had left. The member was not that gullible and upon pushing on the bathroom door noted some push back. He surmised the two were trying to hide in the classic hide and seek location of behind a door. This member is a veteran player though, and knew to look through the crack, and upon doing so could see both of them. Both were wanted on warrants out of Drayton Valley and both were arrested. Both denied the report of the knife as did the witness in the room. Both held for Judicial interim release hearings, both were released by a Justice of the Peace.
4:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Fairway Meadows – Police called to an assault. Male reported he was pushed and punched in the face. Members attended and took a statement. Investigation continuing.
7:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Berrymoor area – Members attended for a report of a domestic dispute that led to an assault. Upon arrival police spoke to both parties; the male couldn’t remember what happened though his spouse told police he hit and choked her. Physical evidence of the assault existed. The male was arrested and charged with assault.
10:08 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 by bridge – Complainant reported a vehicle on it’s side by the bridge. Complainant called back advising it was just an ATV and everyone was okay and righting the ATV. Member attended and located some ATV’s; several tickets were issued for observed offences.
11:23 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 Ave – Complainant reported his intoxicated adult son is at his residence and not welcome. Members attended and found the son in the street with his pants down. The male was arrested and transported to cells to sober up. In the morning members noted significant mental health concerns. A Form 10 mental health warrant was completed and he was transported to the Ponoka Centennial Center.
September 3
1:18 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported some youth harassing a male with a knife. Members attended and located the three youth who were all warned about their actions and driven home where they should already have been. It appears the three were harassing and following another male who yelled at them that he had a knife.
5:22 p.m. – Tomahawk area – Members attended a residence to assist paramedics with a deceased female. Not suspicious, Medical Examiner investigating.
September 4
10:52 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported a road rage incident. A male in a black Peterbilt with a white tanker was following complainant, right on their tail. Complainant stated he passed the semi in a passing lane and the driver “lost his mind” and tried to run him off the road. Semi turned off toward Rocky Rapids. Member made patrols but failed to locate such a truck, no other descriptors were provided.
2:42 p.m. – Cynthia – Complainant reported a male came out swinging an axe and threatening to shoot his dogs while he was out walking them. Members attended and spoke to both parties. The complainant was advised that as his dogs are aggressive he should be keeping them on a leash. The suspect said he raised a hammer when the dogs came at him, and did admit to threatening to shoot the dogs but after complainant threatened him. No charges, both were warned.
September 5
8:29 a.m. – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported wire stolen from 3 different lease sites.
8:51 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/54 St – Complainant reported a male and female in a room at the Coach, who weren’t supposed to be there. Members investigated and determined the two had been in a different room. Both were located, arrested and held for telephone bail hearings. 41-year-old Sean Porter was charged with break and enter, mischief and failing to comply and was subsequently remanded in custody. 28-year-old Jade Ashby received a Release Order with a cash bail, but was also taken to remand after being unable to raise the cash bail required.
3:23 p.m. – Parkland County – Complainant called wondering what to do about a neighbour removing survey stakes. Member suggested he first speak to Parkland County for advice.
6:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported a possible shoplifter; female set off alarm at door but refused to allow her bag to be checked. Under investigation.
September 6
2:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported a male laying face down in front of Fas Gas. Member attended and located the known male who said he had a lower back injury from falling off his bike. Member unable to locate any bike. The male appeared impaired and admitted to using meth. Paramedics attended and transported the male to hospital to be checked out.
6:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50A St – Complainant reported a fire in the bushes and suspects people at the fire are responsible for the theft of items from a business yard. Member attended and found only an abandoned campfire and none of the described missing property. Foot patrols were also done of other homeless camps and nothing was located. Theft under investigation.
7:41 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Ctr Blvd – Complainant reported theft from a vehicle overnight, window broken out and some tools were stolen. Some equipment was also cut from under the hood but left on the ground.
10:26 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported some items stolen from his truck while parked in a hotel lot overnight. Under investigation, video surveillance available.
11:15 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 63 – Complainant reported that a former tenant absconded with some utensils and three kitchen chairs. Member was able to locate and speak to the suspect who advised the items were by an outbuilding on the property. Member attended and confirmed this statement. Complainant was advised the matter is civil and to consult the tenancy branch.
5:52 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported some tools and a bottle of acetylene stolen from a seacan on a commercial yard, occurred the previous night. Under investigation.
September 7
3:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported that an intoxicated male was becoming impatient waiting for a taxi and possibly trying to drive home from the bar. Complaint was updated as some bystanders were able to convince him to wait and then ensured he left in the cab. Member was unable to reach the male by phone.
