August 17
11:39 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Hwy 22/50 St – Complainant reported an erratic driver in a silver Cadillac, speeding and swerving. Member located the vehicle and warned the driver.
3:21 p.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported his 1991 Chevrolet S10 pickup stolen from his yard, occurred sometime after Aug. 1 . Under investigation.
4:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/50 St – Members responded to commercial panic alarm. On arrival the employee explained she wanted a fast police response as there was a group of youth’s being mean and rude. Members advised her to not push a button intended for serious incidents such as armed robbery for such a purpose.
5:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/54 Ave – Complainant reported finding their bikes locked up at the Coach Motel. Bikes had been stolen the night before. Bike recovered, under investigation.
7:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported a suspicious black Cadillac Escalade had been parking there in the day and occupants were walking to the Coach Motel. Member watched the vehicle for awhile until the driver returned, at which time he was issued several violation tickets. No other offences noted at the time but the driver is well known to police.
7:22 p.m. – Parkland County – Twp Rd 512 – Parkland County requested members check on a Peace Officer who was not responding to radio checks or to his cell phone. Member located the officer who had been busy getting cattle off the road but had since hoofed it back to his vehicle and updated his dispatch.
August 18
3:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended the detachment reporting that his son had been assaulted at the Skate Park on Aug. 15. Member spoke to the victim who confirmed this. Two possible suspects, under investigation.
8:08 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Member on patrol located a driver stuck in the construction area on 50 Ave. Apparently, she tried to make a turn and failed to notice the 2-3 ft drop-off or multitude of visible warnings. The vehicle was removed with assistance of a tow truck.
8:12 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported finding a small bag of drugs in an employee washroom. Member attended and retrieved the drugs which will be destroyed.
11:21 p.m. – Parkland County – greater Tomahawk area – Complainant reported possible gun shots from near her residence. Members attended and located a male who had been using fireworks.
August 19
12:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Members conducting a bar walk located a male who was directing a friend to fight police. The intoxicated male then told the officers that he would “kill them right now if he wanted to.” Members decided to provide this male with very comfortable accommodations for the night, courtesy of the King, to prevent further issues. The male was released in the morning when sober with a request to leave a 5-star review on Google.
August 20
7:06 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 81/Twp Rd 492 – Complainant reported a black Chrysler SUV in the middle of RR 81. Member attended and located the vehicle with two occupants, apparently having run out of gas. While on scene a traffic warrant was executed on a male passenger. Members then gave one person a ride to a gas station and back.
9:29 a.m. – Tomahawk area – Complainant reported a truck and trailer stolen from her yard overnight. Member called the complainant for more information and learned that her father had come and taken the truck before she woke up. Nothing had been stolen.
1:37 p.m. – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported a male and female walking away from an SUV heading toward Lodgepole. The complainant was concerned as she recognized the male as having a “dangerous history.” Members attended and located the same Chrysler SUV dealt with earlier, appearing to have broken down or ran out of gas. Members patrolled the area but didn’t locate the occupants, though they had apparently been in the nearby store and caused no issues.
4:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49B St – Complainant reported the battery stolen off his trailer at about 4:50 am. Complainant had video but it was of poor quality due to glare. Insufficient evidence to investigate further.
6:15 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 485 – Complainants reported a white Chevy truck with damage, abandoned on the road. Member attended and noted significant damage and no plate attached. Members contacted the owner and towed the truck. It was later determined that the damage was pre-existing and that an older model 5th wheel was also missing. Members know the theft occurred after about noon the day prior as another member had checked the truck and trailer in the lot where the owner left it while working out of town. Under investigation.
6:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Employee reported a male and female in a pickup performing sexual acts in the parking lot. Members attended and found the amorous pair in the act of making each others day more pleasurable. Members initially arrested the 70-year-old male and 37-year-old female for Indecent Acts but decided to only charge the female for breaching her 24-hour house arrest. Police queries indicate they are acquainted and the male resides elsewhere.
August 21
1:33 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 N – Complainant reported two males in a black Ford Ranger without a visible license plate were passing a joint back and forth. Last seen passing Twp Rd 500. Member patrolled as far as the Evansburg boundary but didn’t find the truck. Evansburg RCMP advised to watch for the vehicle.
4:48 p.m. – Parkland & Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Several complainants reported a red GMC pickup driving slowly and going in/out of the ditch, heading south toward Drayton Valley. Members located the truck and conducted a traffic stop. Members spoke to the known driver and determined he was trying to get back to town with a defective transmission and was not impaired.
August 22
1:21 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported a possible break and enter to a business. A male requested she call police as he had seen someone breaking into the bakery through a window. As donuts were possibly involved police responded quickly but found the business secure and no indications of anything nefarious having occurred.
4:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Coach Motel – Complainant called at the request of a male who was being assaulted by his girlfriend. Member attended to investigate and spoke to witnesses who saw the female hitting the male with a speaker. Both the victim and suspect had left the scene and weren’t located at the time. Another member located and arrested the 24-year-old female later in the day. She is currently in custody awaiting a telephone bail hearing on charges of assault with a weapon and breaching conditions.
8:44 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported a hit and run to a parked vehicle by a distinctive red company truck. Patrols were able to locate the truck and the driver was issued a violation ticket for failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
2:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported that her landlord had entered her apartment with no notice and uninvited. File open to speak to the landlord as this is a potential offence under the Alberta Residential Tenancy Act, Section 23.
3:20 p.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reported that his mother was apparently intoxicated and had threatened to drive to get more alcohol if he didn’t bring her some. Members located the female prior to her driving and issued a 24-hour suspension.
August 23
8:05 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 44A Ave – Complainant reported that a male in a black Ford stole a pressure washer and hose from his neighbours. Member located a matching car, under investigation.
5:31 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported being assaulted while at the bar the prior evening. Under investigation, charges likely.
7:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that a female attended her residence, in breach of her release conditions. The female was located and held in cells overnight and then released to appear in court at a later date.
9:33 p.m. – Brazeau County – Complainant reported that his friend had hit his car. Complainant concerned the friend will take out his anger on his partner. Member investigated and determined that the suspect thinks his friend is pursuing a relationship with his estranged spouse. Under investigation.
