Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. May 17
10:39 p.m. – Brazeau County – Golf Course – Complainant reported gun shots from the golf course area. Members attended and found other witnesses reporting they heard shots on the course. Members deputized a golf cart and patrolled the course but found no source and nothing suspicious.
May 18
5:57 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members driving past Boston Pizza heard a car alarm and went to check it out. A passerby then pointed out an unrelated van with two people inside, possibly passed out. Members checked the van and after some investigation a male and female were arrested on various charges including breaching conditions, drug and weapons possession and obstruction. The female was held in custody for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released by a Justice of the Peace to appear at a later date. The male was released by police to appear at a later date but also issued several tickets and a 24-hour driving suspension.
11:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Ave – Complainant reported a bonfire in the backyard of a residence with a party ongoing. Members attended and found the fire was a propane fire. Partygoers were warned about noise and were cooperative.
May 19
3:50 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reported meeting a female on Tik Tok and sending her money to travel to his residence. The female then reported she was kidnapped and wanted more money. The complainant was advised he had been scammed and to stop all communication, and in the unlikely event someone showed up at his residence to call police.
3:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant called to report a utility trailer reported to have been stolen on the night of the evacuation had been recovered, and was never actually stolen. There had been a miscommunication with a customer.
4:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that her ex left a custody exchange and has been texting her. Complainant concerned for her children’s safety and also brought up concerns that she is being stalked. Member investigated and spoke to both parties, no grounds for any charges.
9:09 p.m. – Brazeau County – Willey West – Complainant reported a small fire, in breach of the fire ban. Complainant then advised it was a propane fire and police weren’t needed. Members attended and patrolled the campground to ensure everyone was following the fire ban and enjoying their camping.
May 20
3:36 p.m. – Cynthia area – Complainant reported an older black Ford in the ditch, headlights still on, steering column damaged. Member attended and contacted the owner who advised it had been stolen overnight in Edmonton though he hadn’t yet called police. Truck towed, under investigation.
4:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported an outside storage area broken into and a number of items stolen including bicycles, a generator, bbq and paddle boards. Under investigation.
4:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported a male making a possible drug sale in the back alley, occurred about five minutes earlier. Members made patrols but no suspicious persons located; complainant provided a first name of the possible seller, police unable to identify an obvious suspect.
6:02 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a male in a grey truck spinning his tires and spewing gravel. Complainant confronted the male but thought it might turn physical. Members located and warned the male who was apologetic for his behaviour.
10:18 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a female having obtained a ride from Drayton Valley to the Edmonton area, possibly to avoid capture by police. Member spoke to the complainant and advised that the female had already been arrested and released in Drayton Valley for an incident in Evansburg. Police were not looking to arrest her again.
May 21
12:10 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/North Sask bridge – Member on patrol located a van parked roadside. Member checked the van and found a female sleeping inside. The female appeared to be intoxicated and mentioned planning to drive to Edmonton. To prevent this the van was towed and the driver issued a 24-hour suspension.
2:18 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant requested assistance in renting a hotel room for the night. Member attended and provided the hotel with the females’ drivers license as ID, which had been seized by police earlier when she had been issued a suspension.
3:12 p.m. – Brazeau County – RR90 – Complainant reported two vehicles apparently racing each other on the road. Member patrolled the area and obtained plate numbers from a neighbour. Member unable to contact the owners of the two vehicles.
3:42 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complainant reported a distressed female in a business. Member attended and determined that the 19-year-old had been abandoned in town by some friends the night before and had no way to get home. Member transported the female into Rocky Mountain House area to assist.
4:32 p.m. – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 485 – Complainant requested assistance in retrieving belongings from a friend’s residence. Complainant was supposed to pickup the items in February but didn’t, today she has a way to pickup the stuff but the friend told her nothing is there. Member contacted the friend who said she had gotten rid of the items and that the complainant wasn’t welcome there. Member advised the complainant that it was a civil matter and suggested some recourse; the complainant believed the police were corrupt and refused to listen.
May 22
2:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported a male was driving impaired and had almost hit her before driving off. Initial complainant left the scene and didn’t answer her phone so police could get further details. Police subsequently learned that a confrontation had occurred outside the Derrick Lounge where the male had left the car in gear and got out, with the car hitting the building. 34-year-old Ryan Decoteau was arrested and held for a telephone bail hearing on 7 new charges including assault, mischief, and breaching conditions. Decoteau was remanded in custody.
10:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that a friend of her ex has no contact conditions with their daughter. Complainant heard that her ex took their daughter to this male’s residence, creating a possible breach of conditions. Member determined this incident occurred in Edmonton., Edmonton police are investigating.
11:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Members responded to a robbery at a gas station. Clerk had been robbed with pepper spray. Suspect stole cigarettes and about $150 cash and a Toyota RAV4. Rocky Mountain House RCMP located the vehicle and arrested four suspects. 20-year-old Wynden Bremner was charged with robbery, breach of conditions and several weapons offences and held in Rocky Mountain House cells for a telephone bail hearing. Bremner was remanded in custody.
May 23
6:29 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Male caller reported that his son’s BMX bike had been stolen two weeks prior and that today he recovered it in a homeless encampment. When the dispatcher tried to gather more information, the male replied “are you f-ing kidding me?” and hung up. Members located the camp and seized several other bikes suspected to have been stolen.
7:27 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Drayton Christian School – Complainant reported kids on the school roof. Member attended and found some youth playing basketball, one stated he went on the roof to retrieve a ball. Member advised the youth and his mother that he isn’t allowed on the roof.
May 24
3:08 p.m. – Brazeau County – Fairway Meadows – Complainant reported her son is in her residence causing a disturbance and breaking things, in breach of his conditions. Members attended and searched the home and property but the male wasn’t located. Charges pending.
7:49 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Complainant reported her ex texting and calling incessantly. Member spoke to the ex who explained he has 50/50 custody and the complainant won’t let him see his kids. Member advised both that they need to get this issue solved in court. Some suitable arrangements were made.
May 25
1:41 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 759 near Hwy 624 – Complainant reported an unknown person driving a riding lawnmower and pulling a trailer with items in it. Complainant concerned it might be stolen. Member patrolled the area but was unable to locate the mower man.
