Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. April 5
8:24 p.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported his girlfriend missing, left on foot about two hours prior, unable to reach her by phone. Member was able to reach the female who was safe in a hotel and had just decided the relationship wasn’t working so she was making plans to return home to another province.
9:08 p.m. – Omniplex – Complainant reported vehicles stunting in the parking lot. Member attended but didn’t locate the vehicle that had been reported. Members remained in the area until most of the vehicles had left.
April 6
4:56 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported returning to her apartment and finding her patio door unlocked, even though she believed it had been locked. Member attended, no signs of any forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing and no one found inside that shouldn’t be there.
9:58 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported a tanker truck hauling dangerous goods was parked too close to a gas station. Members attended, driver was getting ready to leave.
April 7
8:30 a.m. – Parkland County – Complainant reported receiving threats from a neighbour stating they would shoot her dogs if found chasing their cattle again. Complainant seeking clarification on whether they could do this. Member advised that under Section 25 of the Alberta Stray Animals Act the owner of the cattle would be within their rights under certain circumstances.
2:58 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 624/RR72 – Members attended along with Fire and EMS to a single vehicle rollover. The male youth driver was transported to Edmonton via STARS in critical condition. The female youth passenger was transported for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. It is suspected that speed was a factor, no indications of impairment. Collision Analyst attended the scene, under investigation.
6:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Complainant reported her ex was sending multiple text messages about talking to their children. Due to some extenuating circumstances effecting the agreements in place the complainant was advised to speak to her lawyer after the weekend.
April 8
6:16 a.m. – Brazeau County – Fairway Meadows – Members called to assist paramedics with a male who had called 911 several times reporting people in his attic beating up a woman. Member spoke to the male who was convinced there were people in the attic. Member climbed a ladder to the attic and was able to confirm there was no one up there and not enough space to stand up. The complainant was satisfied.
11:19 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported that her mother took her truck and got it impounded in Edmonton. Complainant indicated mom had used the truck with permission in the past, but didn’t have permission this time. After some discussion the complainant didn’t want charges if she can retrieve the truck. Member suspected the report was made due to impound costs and inconvenience of the situation.
1:00 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 St – Members attended with Fire Dept for a fire involving an ATV and a tree. Resident had found the fire and mostly extinguished it prior to firefighters arriving. It appeared a fire had been started and may have spread to the ATV. Questionable circumstances involved, though it remains uncertain how the fire started.
6:46 p.m. – Brazeau County – Violet Grove area – Complainant reported receiving two phone calls with a recording telling the complainant she was going to die tomorrow. Member investigated and was able to trace the threats to two 11-year-old girls who are now more aware of features such as call display. Parent of the girls will be dealing with the issue appropriately including having them call a third time to make an apology. No substance to the threats.
April 9
3:43 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Mackenzie Ave – Complainant reported people outside his house banging on the door for about 15 minutes. Members attended and arrested an intoxicated female who was then held in cells overnight to sober up. Once sober she was transported to Edmonton Remand due to unpaid traffic tickets.
3:45 p.m. – Brazeau County – Breton area – Drayton Valley members called to assist Breton RCMP. Complainant had returned home to find suspects breaking into his home. Suspects repeatedly rammed complainant in order to escape. Drayton Valley members assisted with laying a spike belt on Hwy 616 and then assisting with a dog track with PDS (Police Dog Service). Two males were located and charged with multiple offences by Breton RCMP.
April 10
3:01 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 54 St – Members responded to a possible domestic, location plotting to the shelter pods. On arrival it was determined that a female was stuck in a unit; apparently, she had been trying to prevent someone from entering and the door handle got broken in the process. Members were able to extricate her from the unit and she was taken elsewhere for the night. Under investigation.
5:52 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant called 911 reporting she was sad, lost and feeling like she may want to harm herself. Member located the female who was intoxicated and uncooperative. Member transported her to cells and lodged her for her own safety. Once sober she claimed to not be suicidal and didn’t remember the earlier events. The female was released to a family member.
April 11
5:41 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Complainant reported neighbours again being noisy, can hear arguing and yelling and a female yelling “get the **** out of my house.” Members attended and the female stated her ex boyfriend, who’s last name she didn’t know, had just left. The female also reported he had returned her key so wouldn’t likely return. Members on scene confirmed there were no threats or violence involved.
8:10 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 48A Ave – Complainant reported a male in her driveway threatening her with a firearm. Members attended, no male or described vehicle on scene. Members viewed the message history and determined no such threats had been made, though he had offered to take her for breakfast. Comments regarding firearms were unrelated to the complainant. Members then located and spoke to the male and confirmed there was no criminal intent.
April 12
12:14 a.m. – Brazeau County – Fairway Meadows – Complainant reported that “Dave and Rob” were in his attic. Members attended and the complainant stated there were two women in the attic and Dave and Rob were on the roof. Members were able to confirm no one was on the roof but unable to check the attic as the complainant advised that “a midget cop” would be needed. Member advised complainant we had no little people to check, member was then asked to leave.
1:54 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Third party complaint of two females fighting in a yard. Members responded and determined the two were fighting over a pair of jeans. One claimed to have found the jeans at a local charity for street people, the other wanted the jeans back immediately. Members were unable to determine who owned the jeans and didn’t want one female pantless. The two eventually went their separate ways.
April 13
3:11 am – Brazeau County – RR 90 – Complainant reported a vehicle at the end of her driveway, female in the vehicle. Vehicle then left slowly away. Members attended and located the vehicle stopped on a nearby road. Members identified the driver and determined the 2007 Corolla had been reported stolen out of Airdrie on April 6th. When the driver was advised she was under arrest she chose to put it in gear and speed off into an area of roads that would be a dead end for a Corolla. Members located her stuck in mud on a lease road where she was successfully arrested and the car was recovered. 28-year-old Katelyn Woledge is being held for a telephone bail hearing on multiple new charges.
