Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. March 24
10:00 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 Ave – Complainant reported that her ex brother-in-law had not followed through with payments on a civil agreement. Complainant had leased a vehicle and he was to make the payments. Member suggested she contact the leasing company as police had no authorities to intervene. Similar advice had been given on this same matter in late December.
6:15 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant requested assistance in retrieving clothing and a baby blanket back from her ex boyfriend who is refusing to return the items unless she pays him for repairs done to her vehicle. Member arranged to have the items returned and told the male to seek payment via civil means.
8:01 p.m. – Brazeau County – Willey West area – Complainant reported an erratic driver, weaving, changing speeds, braking etc. Member attended and located the vehicle parked. Driver was warned about his poor driving skills, alcohol not a factor.
March 25
1:14 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Staff at the bar reported a male had knocked out another in a fight. Members attended and the involved parties had left. Witnesses described the loser as having been belligerent and harassing women. The belligerent male and another got into a consensual fight which resulted in an attitude adjustment.
8:39 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 St – Complainant reported a dog had been in her backyard and then an older blue Chevy car pulled up, picked up the dog and drove away. Complainant reporting in case someone later reported the dog as stolen.
10:01 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St S – Complainant reported a blue Jimmy parked unoccupied at the gas pumps for several hours. Member attended and determined the Jimmy had been stolen in Edmonton. Under investigation.
March 26
7:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 Ave – Complainant reported that a neighbour who she has had issues with for some time was now approaching potential home buyers during an open house and slandering the property. Due to the complainant having verbally told the neighbour multiple times to stay off the property a member contacted her and told her to stay away or be issued a trespassing ticket.
12:23 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant called 911 wanting his “now ex” removed from his hotel room. Members attended and the female had left. Both parties well known to police and were likely “back together” a couple days later.
March 27
6:53 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a break and enter to a business overnight; front door smashed sometime overnight. Member attended and found the door still locked and alarm still on. No one found inside, unclear if it was a break and enter attempt or mischief by breaking the door glass.
1:51 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – Employee reported a fight outside the gym between two males. Member attended and spoke to witnesses, who advised one male was hitting the other while already down. Member spoke to the youth and his parent who believed an appropriate lesson may have been learned. Neither requested charges.
4:16 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 53 Ave – Complainant reported that his daughter failed to return his granddaughter as per parenting order. Member attended the daughter’s residence, daughter believed there was a grey area regarding Spring Break. Granddaughter returned to complainant as per the order, both advised to deal with issues at an upcoming court date.
6:46 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported theft of copper wire from a lease site.
March 29
8:20 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Industrial Rd – Complainant called wanting his ex out of his hotel room. Members attended and found the female on her way out. The pair bickered a bit while members were on scene with the female mentioning the male’s “performance anxiety.” Members are not trained to assist with such issues.
1:06 p.m. – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reported an explosion at an energy site. Members attended with Fire Dept, fire already out on arrival. Complainant believed the explosion had occurred due to chemicals heating while the tank was being emptied. Complainant had already advised OH&S who will investigate as needed.
11:50 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two males threw something on his truck. Members attended and found egg on the door. Patrols unable to locate the male and the eggshell was too smashed to allow for fingerprinting.
March 30
3:13 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant reported a neighbour had been loud all night, slamming doors etc. Complainant had reported to the property manager. Member attended but the vehicle related to the noisy door slammer had left already. Complainant advised to contact Brazeau County Peace Officers if the noise persisted.
8:36 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 47 St – Complainant reported an unknown female repeatedly trespassing and stealing small items from her porch and neighbours’ properties. Ongoing for the past year. Surveillance obtained but member unable to make a positive id, though a likely suspect will be spoken to when next seen by police.
Throughout the Week, RCMP say there were eight files were generated due to reports of lost, stolen or missing license plates. Eleven reports were received of minor or non-injury vehicle collisions.
