Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. December 8
12:41 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Complainant reported that someone tried to steal the change out of the laundry machines, causing damage but getting no money. Investigation revealed no viable suspects.
December 9
11:30 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Center Blvd – Complaint from staff at a business reporting a male threatened to punch them when asked to not park his semi on a sidewalk blocking fire exit. Member investigated and an alternate resolution agreed upon, suspects’ employer advised and will deal with the matter
12:12 p.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22 passing Hwy 621 – Complainant reported an aggressive semi driver; tailgating and passing at high speed. Due to the location the information was sent to Evansburg RCMP to patrol
5:46 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a male passed out behind the wheel of a running truck, parked in front of a liquor store. Members attended and obtained two breath samples, resulting in the male being issued a 15 day suspension and his truck being impounded.
9:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 56 Ave – Complainant reported a truck parked across from her residence, running for the past 6 hours, complainant concerned for wellbeing of driver. Member attended and spoke to the owner whose son had locked his keys in the truck after leaving it running due to bad gas (fuel).
December 10
10:49 a.m. – Brazeau County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reported a silver BMW tailgating and then passing her after a “brake check”. BMW driver then slowed down and “flipper her the bird.” RO spoken to who advised his son was driving, son spoken to who said the complainant was driving slow and brake checked him twice.
9:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 St – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop and arrested a male and female on outstanding warrants. The male was charged with several new offences, held for a telephone bail hearing and subsequently released. The female was also released after a hearing.
December 11
1:02 a.m. – Parkland County – Hwy 22/Twp Rd 514 – Complainant reported a truck on the side of the road, concerned someone may be in distress. Members attended and located a male in the passenger seat who smelled of alcohol. The male claimed to be waiting for his girlfriend to come get him. A 24 hour suspension was issued and the truck was towed.
9:50 a.m. – Tomahawk – Complainant reported e-transferring money to a person for purchase of firewood, and then not receiving the wood. Member spoke to the complainant and provided advice on how to avoid being scammed. Under investigation
11:55 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave – Complainant reported she had been kicked out of her boyfriends place and he had broken her phone. Members located the female and investigated. No grounds to charge the male involved, and the female was wanting assistance in getting back to family in Red Deer. Members provided assistance as possible at the time.
December 12
8:31 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 58 St – Complainant called for advice on getting a truck back from an ex family member. Complainant advised truck was in her name, but suspect was paying for registration and insurance, bill of sale has been completed but suspect has missed payments and refuses to give the truck back. Member advised this was a civil issue and provided some advice on how to proceed.
11:18 a.m. – Brazeau County – Cynthia area – Members responded to a lease site to assist EMS with a deceased male. On arrival EMS and Stars had attended and pronounced the male deceased. Next of kin notifications completed. Investigation turned over to OH&S and the Medical Examiner, death appears to have been caused by a medical issue
11:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Complainant reported her ex was sending her multiple messages and may be suicidal. Members located and spoke to the male who was found to be intoxicated, but not suicidal. The male was warned to not continue communicating, as the messages were unwanted.
1:47 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 55 St – Complainant reported her unregistered and uninsured van was stolen sometime around October 30th. Complainant suspects her sister and some unsavoury friends may be involved. Member spoke to the complainant, who had no proof her sister was involved, and also appeared to be trying to report after the fact as the van has been recovered and towed by Parkland RCMP on November 1st. Member believed the call was related to a reluctance to pay the storage and impound fees that have accrued since November 1st.
10:01 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 52 Ave – Complainant reported she may have been drugged while at the bar on November 18th. Under investigation
December 13
9:22 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Holiday Inn Express – Complaint received of an unregistered guest refusing to leave. Police attended and staff advised that the female who rented the room has left but there is a male in the room refusing to leave. Members entered the room and a known male was in the room slowly packing. Members assisted in packing the males belongings and escorted him out. While in the room members noted packages of adult toys in the garbage can. These packages matched the adult toys stolen from Rexall Pharmacy reported below. Investigation continuing.
10:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police called to a theft of adult toys from Rexall drugs from the night before. Members attended and were shown footage of a female putting the toys in her purse and leaving. Footage matched that of the female who had rented the problem room at the Holiday Inn Express and toy wrappers found in that room’s garbage can. Charges pending against the female thief.
8:45 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Police called to a female shoplifter at Independent Grocery. Members attended but the female had already left. Video surveillance to be obtained of the offence. Investigation continuing.
9:20 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – While out on patrol police located a vehicle driving without tail lights and that had expired registration. Vehicle stopped, mandatory alcohol screening done on the driver who failed the breath test. Driver charged under the provincial impaired driving sanctions.
December 14
3:43 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Area of Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that he is being threatened and attempted to be extorted via text. Member spoke with the complainant who stated he had left his phone at a co-workers house and someone used it to contact an escort service. He is now being threatened and they are asking him for $3000. Investigation continuing.
5:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Theft of truck reported to police. Complainants 2004 red Ford 250 stolen from out front of Three Knights Steakhouse. Video surveillance being reviewed of the theft. A red sedan is observed pulling up and the passenger of the car gets out and steals the truck. Members working to identify the thief.
