Alberta RCMP App – The AB RCMP mobile app is now available as a free download through the Apple App and Google Play Stores. The app does not track or monitor users in any way. It provides easy access to Online Crime Reporting, Crime Mapping, Detachment information, Project Lock Up, Crime Stoppers, as well as RCMP news and social media accounts.
Surveillance Camera Registry – If you have a surveillance system at your home or business, you can register it with the Drayton Valley RCMP to help officers identify locations that may have valuable evidence to aid in investigations. November 17
7:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Power Centre Blvd – Complainant reported a female shoplifted about two hours earlier. Under investigation.
9:05 p.m. – Brazeau County – Birchwood – Complainant reported a neighbour is saying his son broke into an RV. Members determined that the complainants son is likely not the culprit and advised the neighbour of this. The original B&E to RV file is under investigation with a different possible suspect identified.
November 18
11:58 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Charge laid against a 27-year-old female for failing to attend court. Warrant issued.
12:44 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St/55 Ave – Complainant reported a minor collision, other driver allegedly began yelling, spit at complainants truck then drove off. Witnesses on scene spoken to, under investigation.
3:05 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his vehicle broken into while at the dealer for service. Under investigation.
November 19
2:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reported she was assaulted by another female at the bar. Under investigation.
9:03 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported three youth broke in and stole items from her daughter’s room. Member investigated and determined permission was given to go in and take some items, but more was taken than intended. Under investigation.
November 20
3:42 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requesting police attend and remove unruly tenants, claimed that the Tenancy Branch told him this was appropriate. Members attended and informed the complainant that there was a process to be followed and this wasn’t it. Cannabis consumption may have played a role in the call.
12:01 p.m. – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge – Complainant reported a black cat stuck on top of a utility pole. Drayton Valley Fire attended to assist along with a neighbour familiar with tree climbing and the cat was returned to the ground where it promptly took off right meow.
8:24 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported a co-worker at a care home had harassed her and sexually assaulted her. Incident occurred approximately December 2021. Under investigation.
November 21
9:44 a.m. – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reports she is in the process of separating from her common-law spouse, and is concerned he’ll report their car as stolen as the car is in her possession. Member contacted the complainant and provided some advice. Not criminal.
10:43 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR 80 – Complainant called from work reporting a U-Haul at his residence and someone may be breaking in. Complainant also said his girlfriend could be moving out as this has happened in the past. Member investigated and confirmed it was the latter.
11:01 a.m. – Brazeau County – RR91 – Member attended a property on an unrelated matter and observed a suspicious truck. Checks confirmed the 2002 Dodge had been stolen in early October in Fort Saskatchewan. No suspects on scene. While dealing with the truck the property owner and son arrived, stated no knowledge of the truck. The owner’s son was subsequently arrested on warrants from Parkland RCMP. Under investigation.
9:32 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported his suspicion that an employee took money he left on a table while using VLT’s. The allegations were complicated by his admission to a possible gambling problem, having two bar tabs open, and his being intoxicated. Under investigation.
November 22
7:48 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant requested assistance with his daughter who was having some mental health issues and possibly under the influence of an illicit substance. Members assisted by holding the female in cells to sober up, after which she was transported to a mental health facility on a mental health warrant obtained by the complainant.
10:27 a.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported two males passed out in a car. Member attended and identified the males who said they had been driving all night from Edmonton and were tired; unknown what convoluted route took them all night. Driver issued a ticket for expired registration.
12:25 p.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant attended to report that he had sold his car and forgot to take the plate off; he has received several tickets in the mail as he is still the registered owner. File number provided. Note: Police recommend removing plates, completing proper transfer documents and ensuring vehicles are no longer in your name after they have been sold to prevent such occurrences.
5:21 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported a possible impaired driver. Member located the female who advised she’s not drank for decades and was driving slowly as the complainant was honking and tailgating. Driver was sober.
6:37 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 7/11 – Complainant reported store clerks were rude and kicked her out for taking too long to pour a Slurpee. Member attended to this priority matter and found that the complainant had left already. Staff advised that the female frequently fails to pay (steals) and they were worried she may have found a bottomless cup as she was at the Slurpee machine for about 30 minutes.
8:30 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 49 Ave – Complainant reported a male and female had bear sprayed her and her boyfriend. All involved are known to police. Members were unable to locate the suspects, file is under investigation.
November 23
10:35 a.m. – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported her friend missing, hadn’t heard from him for 24 hours. Members were able to confirm his wellbeing in short order as he was in cells after being arrested on a warrant.
1:06 p.m. – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Police received a 911 hang up call from an area in Drayton Valley. Child heard talking in the background. Members checked the area, located a child playing on a mobile device. Suspect this to be the cause.
7:07 p.m. – Drayton Valley – River Ravine – Police were called about a dog bite. Complainant reported that her ex-husband’s dog bit their daughter. Members spoke with the father who advised their daughter was petting the dog while it was eating and it bit her. File passed to by-law.
7:36 p.m. – Brazeau County – Country Style – Police received a report of an assault. Statement taken from the victim. Members continue to investigate.
